It was eight at night when Dustin and Lucas finally arrived at Will's house, they knocked on the door a few times, expecting Will or Jonathan, but mike answered the door instead.

"Hey, guys." Mike casually answered. Dustin just blinked at him, surprised. Lucas glanced into the house. "Are you guys cool now?" Mike shook his head. "No- he isn't here right now." This time Lucas was confused.

"So, what are you doing here?" Dustin asked for him. "You know, I got drunk and couldn't walk home." Mike shrugged. Lucas and Dustin shared a look. "Are you good, dude?" Dustin warily asked. Mike nodded a yes before turning to Lucas with concern.

"Yeah. actually, are you okay? Lucas, I saw what happened earlier." Lucas shrugged, looking off to the side. Mike opened the door, letting them in.

Alright, Steve, I've gotta take mike home, so you need to bring Will back."

"Will isn't with me right now."

Jonathan sighed. "Well, where is he?"

"Cheetos and peanut butter." Mason glanced at him.

Will drummed along to the beat of 'Cherry Bomb' as mason squinted at will's snack.

"That's- no. pineapple pizza wins by far." He shook his head, stuffing some more of the pizza in his mouth. Will stood up, walking over to the couch mason was sitting on. "You have to try it! I-it's like pineapple pizza." "Don't compare pineapple pizza to that monstrosity." Will sat down, sighing. "You never try anything new."

"Yeah, but you're always trying something new." He added. "You're like the newest person ever." Will looked at him in confusion. "How can a person be new?" "And I'm not like a wild party animal or something." Mason gestured at the clouds of smoke visible around them. "Okay, I see you're point, but I'm not always like this."

He sighed. "I'm not, like, cool or anything." "No, you are," Mason said. "You're kind of awesome." "Awesome? How?" Will turned towards him. "Well, you're cool to play the drums with," Will smirked. "You can draw, like really well, and you have great taste in music."

"You're just kind of chill like you're not afraid of anything," Mason said, now facing him. Will smiled, not used so many compliments. "Well, everyone's scared of something." He replied, "What's your biggest fear?" Mason thought for a minute. "Probably clowns." Will looked at him. "They freak me out." he shrugged. "What about you?"

"I don't know," He thought back to the Mind Flayer. "I guess I'm scared of a lot of stuff, probably.. bullies or, I don't know, people who won't accept me." Mason nodded. "Yeah, but in a way, that's like everyone's fear."

Will thought back to El. he hoped she wouldn't expose him to his family. But it was likely. He then looked back to Mason, deciding he wasn't finding out by El telling him.

"Mine's different though a lot of people would judge me." Mason looked at him with concern, "Why?"

What if Mason turned out to be super homophobic or something? He stared at mason's back. That's when Will decided. He was prepared to make that sacrifice.

"Because... I'm gay." He stared into the weighed silence, holding his breath for a few seconds, waiting for Mason's response. "Oh," Mason grabbed some chips, offering a bag to will. "You shouldn't be afraid of that." He shrugged, "It's normal."

Will sat in stunned silence, accepting the bag of Cheetos. "So, you... don't care?" He asked. "Nope, I'm also bi, so." Will was stunned for a few minutes. Whether it was the weed or this new information was unclear.

"I- yeah- okay." Will manages after some seconds of staring. Mason smiled at him in silence. Will smiled and glanced at the various posters around the room, standing up as he approached mason with the Cheetos and peanut butter, ignoring mason as he made gagging sounds.
