11:05 am - El's house

"And what did he say?" She added, leaning forward in anticipation.

"He said.. okay." Mike grinned at the two, their smiles shifting into confused glances.

"Okay?" El repeated, looking around the room as if deciphering a code. As Mike watched her, his smile fell into a flat stare. "What?"

Max scooted ahead of her girlfriend, the bed springs bouncing as she moved.

"'Okay' is what you say when someone asks if you want extra cheese, not when your crush wants to hang out with you, alone," She said. her smile riddling the last sentence.

"He smiled!" Mike retaliated.

"You smile at a bad joke." The redhead shot back, El nodding in agreement.

"I bet he didn't say 'okay' when mason kissed him," she stated. Smiling as she watched his eyes widen, mike gaped at max in shock.

"You told her?"

Max whipped her head around to the girl, looking slightly surprised. "Babe!" she said lightly, her voice shocked.

"Uncalled for," Mike glared.

Max calmly turned back toward him. "Is it though? You did cheat on her."

"With one of my friends," She added. Blinking at him.

Mike paused, he was not expecting a sudden attack. Not really knowing how to respond, he scanned their faces. Their dead stares bored into him.

"El, I-"

"Relax, I'm kidding." She grinned. Mike audibly sighed, feeling the tension fade.

"So.. what do I do?"

Will lazily walked into the kitchen, pajama pants dragging as he reached for the cereal, glancing at his brother.

He had thought about this, and casually was probably the best way to do it.

"So, I won't be here for dinner," He semi-muttered, pushing the box back onto the fridge.

He heard his brother sigh, already assuming it had something to do with mason. "Will," he started.

"I'm spending the night at Mike's." He rushed, tired of his brother's rants about the teen.

Jonathan paused in loud silence, he'd never had anything against mike. He was a bit strange, for sure, but this was weird.

Once, Jonathan cracked Will's ghostbusters figurine, and Will gave him the silent treatment for a week.

That same Will got into a fight with Mike less than twenty-four hours ago, and it was so loud he could hear it from downstairs. And now he was spending the night there?

That was more than just weird, there was no way he was actually going there.

"What?" Will glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "You got all quiet,"

"Oh, nothing." He shrugged, eating his cereal.

Joyce walked into the kitchen before will could question his brother any longer, yawning.

She looked between the two, noticing the odd vibe. "What's going on between you two?"

"Oh, nothing," he said in a too-casual voice, mocking him.

1:35 pm - Neighborhood

"I just- I thought he was excited." Mike exhaled, dropping his arms as he walked along the sidewalk.
