Chapter nine THE PIGGYBACK

The rest of the ride was like before very quiet. We arrived in the woods near Eddie ' s trail but we stayed in the van to go over the plan. "Okay. I want to run through it one more time. Phase one." Nancy said. " We meet Erica at the playground. She'll signal Max and Lucas when we ' re ready." Robin said. "Phase two." Nancy said. " max baits Vecna. He 'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve said. "Phase three?" Nancy asked. "Me, Y/N and Eddie draw the bats away." Dustin said. "Four." Nancy asked the other two. "We head into Vecna ' s newly bat-free lair, and... flame." Robin answered. "Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" Nancy asked us. "Got it." We all said and got all our things and walk out. We all walk out the woods to Eddie ' s trailer, you held both Eddie ' s and Dustin ' s hand jogging there. We all got in and you closed the door letting go of the boys ' s hands. "Be careful." You told Steve because he was the first on to go through without a mattress. "Thanks, Y/N." He said. "Here goes nothing." Your brother said climbing up. Good thing that he landed on his feet. I would have broken my ankle or something. Steve then got a mattress and laid it down on the floor. "All right let's go." Steve said. Nancy put her backpack down so she could go first. Robin kneeled down so Nancy could use her lag as a step. We then throw all the weapons and bags throw. Eddie went next, then Robin, then Dustin. "Heads up!" You yelled because you still had your swords. "Okay get back they could go anyway." Steve said pushing Dustin away. When you throw them they just pierced through the mattress in to the floor. "Or maybe not." Robin said taking them out. You then claimed up and fell through, Eddie helped you up with a bit too much strength because when you were standing up your faces were like three inches away from each other. Your face grow really red and you step away quickly. You the quickly got your swords and put them on your back because the others already had all the stuff they needed on them. We then all walk out the trailer. Steve then turned around to you, Dustin and Eddie. "Hey, guys, listen. If things here start to go south, I mean, at all, you abort. Okay? Draw the attention of the bats. Keep 'em busy for a minute or two. We 'll take care of Vecna. Don 't try to be cute or be a hero or something. Okay? You guys are just-" Steve was interrupted by you and Dustin, "Decoys." "Don 't worry. You can be the hero, Steve." Dustin said. "Absolutely. I mean, look at us. We are not heroes." Eddie said. Before Steve could walk away you quickly hug him tight witch he returned. "Please stay safe okay. I still need my big brother." You said into his chest. "I will be okay, I just want you to be safe okay." He said back. "I love you don 't forget that." You said. "I would never forget that and I love you to." He said and let you go and gave you a quick kiss on your forehead. You the walk back to the other boys and Dustin gave you a side hug. Steve then turned around and walked away. "Hey, Steve?" Eddie said walking after him a bit. "Make him pay." Eddie said. Steve just nodded at him. The three of them then walked away and Eddie then came over to you. "You okay?" He asked. "Yeah." You said with a shake voice. He didn't say anything else and pulled you in to a hug.

We then went over to the fences and ripped them off. We just got some pieces to attach to the to attach to the trailer for protection. Eddie and Dustin were drilling some planks on the windows and walls. You were inside to doing the same. After a while you went outside to see the two boys walking backwards away from the trailer. "What' wrong?" You asked them. "Nothing it just looks not bad." Eddie said. You walk over to them and looked at the trailer. " not bad at all." You said. "Now for the fun part." Eddie said and you all walked inside the trailer into what you thing Eddie's room. "Jesus Chr... It' s like... she was destined for an alternate dimension." Eddie said walking to his guitar. "What do you two say, Henderson and Harrington? Are you two ready for the most metal concert in the history of the world?" He asked us taking the guitar of the wall and turned around. "Is that a rhetorical question?" You asked back. "Let' s do it." Eddie said throwing his guitar over his shoulder. You all got speakers onto the roof. "She ' s in. Move on to phase three." We hear Robin say through the walkie talkie. "Copy that. Initiating phase three." Dustin said back to her. "let' s hope they hear this." You said putting the cabals together and crank up the volume, you nodded to Eddie to go for it. "Chrissy, this is for you." Eddie said ripping his neckless of where his pick is on. When he started playing, you recognized the song and it was 'Master of Puppets' form Metallica. After a few seconds you to the binoculars and look if you could see the bats but you couldn't jet. A norther few seconds pass by and you looked again and saw them coming. "Eddie! We got to lock down in T-minus 30 seconds!" You yell to him. You continued looking. "T-minus 20!" You yelled to Eddie. He then started playing the guitar solo. "T-minus 10!" You yelled. "Five!" "One!" You yelled one last time. Eddie then stop a second later. You all jumped down. "Move! Move! Move!" Eddie yelled behind you. "Eddie, come on!" You yelled back at him when you reached the floor. "Shit! Shit!" Dustin Yelled running in first. "Go! Go!" Eddie yelled pushing you lightly into the cage in front the trailer any you both got in. Suddenly the bats flew agents the cage making you jump and hold on to Eddie. "Hurry! Come in you two!" Dustin yelled from inside. When you all where inside you need to catch you breath for a second. "Dude! Most metal ever!" Dustin yelled. The two of them then started jumping from joy and then suddenly screamed witch made you laugh. Even in situations like this those two can still make you laugh but Eddie mostly. After a few seconds they calmed down and we stood in the middle of the room with our weapons drone. You held you swords in front of you. The two boys had their spears and shields. The sounds from the bats stated to freak you out, but you could tell that the other two were also freak out from the way they were breathing. Suddenly the bat' s got quitter. "Hey, dipshits! Give up that easy, huh." Dustin yelled. "Shh!" You said to him. "Is that really necessary?" Eddie asked Dustin. Then we heard a bang on the roof. "They ' re on the roof." Eddie said. "Yeah no shit." You said quietly. You then hear something creaking. "Shit. Shit. Shit." Dustin said. You all started to move to the sound carefully. "Is that eon air duck?" You asked. "Yeah." Dustin said. "Can they go through that?" You asked. "Let' s hope not." He Dustin answered. You the saw the air duck turn. "Quick someone put something on it to close it up!" You yelled "What?" The two of them asked. "Okay I'll do it then." You said taking Eddie ' s shield. "Hey." He said. "I need this or do you want to die?" You said and quickly got a chair, got on it and quickly blocked the air duck and felt the bats banging agents it, but good for you because of the nails you could let go of the shield because no it' s hocked to the selling. "Your welcome but are there any more air ducks?" You asked Eddie. "Oh shit." Is a what Eddie said and ran to his room and open the door but no bats at their jet. "Quick give me the shield!" You yelled, Dustin have you his shield. You turned back to the air duck and saw a bat already "Shit!" You yelled and literally jump at the air duck and accidentally coped of the bat' s head with the side of the shield. You laid there for a few seconds. "You okay?" Eddie asked you. "Yeah no let' s go. It might not hold long." you said getting up. "Dustin you go first." You said and Dustin ran dropped his spear and climbed up. "You go next." Eddie told you. "Only if you promise me your coming straight behind me." You said looking at him in the eyes. "I promise." He said back. "Y/N come on your next!" You hear Dustin yell. You walk over, also put your swords to the side and claimed through. When you landed you look up at Eddie. "Eddie come on!" You yelled at him. He throw his spear to the side and started to climb up. But then he stopped, looked to the side and back to you and Dustin. "Eddie come on!" You yelled again. To you horror Eddie let go and landed on the mattress away. "Eddie what the fuck are you doing! You promised me you come through!" You yelled at him. "Eddie stop please!" Dustin yelled. You started to cry. "Hey Y/N don't cry, everything is going to be okay." Eddie said to you. "I' m just buying the others more time." He said. You looked down at the Eddie said to you. "I' m just buying the others more time." He said. You looked down at the rope gone. "Eddie stop please and come one!" Dustin yelled. Eddie ignored him and looked at you but you wouldn't look back at him. "Y/N please look at me." He said and you looked up at him. "It will be okay." He said and paused for a second. "I- I love you, Y/N Harrington." Eddie said. And with that he left without letting you say something. "Eddie come back you promised me!!" You yelled at him. "Fuck it, Dustin help me put the mattress away!" You yelled out of anger. You saw that Dustin also was crying. You both quickly got the mattress away and you sat a chair down under the gate, you then turned to Dustin. "It will be okay. You can come after me if you want I will put the mattress down." You said to him. " Okay I'll be behind you. Good look." He said smiling slightly at you. You then turned to the chair, you begun to run towards the chair, jumped on it and jumped again and got a hold of the corner of the gate. You pulled yourself up and fell through but didn't hurt yourself. You quickly got up and laid the mattress down. "Okay you can come!" You yelled for Dustin. "Okay!" All he yelled back. You quickly got your swords and ran out the trailer.
