I rode the bus back home as I usually do. Though now I kind of wish I had a car so I wouldn't have to ride this smelly, idiot-filled bus. But I'm so afraid of being behind the wheel of a vehicle, that it's best to just ride the bus whenever I can. Plus I'm also making the world a cleaner place one bus ride home at a time.
I counted down the seconds until we got to my stop. It always takes about 5 minutes and 45-60 seconds to get from school to my stop. As I counted down the seconds, I smiled at the thought of the look on Carli's face from earlier today. She couldn't believe it was her gum that made Tanner choke and looked like she was on the verge of tears. I had to keep myself from laughing the entire time. Best of all, she actually felt so guilty that she spit out her gum and refused to chew any for the rest of the day! That made my day. Best day ever?
Tanner never did get to thank me or anything for the whole "saving his life" thing. Before he could sit back down, the bell rang and I escaped before anything awkward could happen.
As my bus pulled to my stop, I grabbed my bag, thanked the bus driver, and got off the bus.
I waited for the bus to pull away before I began to walk home, smelling the oh-so familiar/disgusting sea-salted air.
Like usual, it only took about 8 minutes to get back home. I decided to go a little crazy today and do something different, so instead of listening to my Space and Galaxy Theorems Podcast, I listened to an brand new podcast--the Quantum Physics Podcast--on my walk back home. And may I say, it was quite entertaining.
I opened my garage door by typing the passcode into the lock-pad and went inside.
"I'm home!" I called out to the empty house. I knew I was home alone, but it had become a habit. I'm still not used to my mom's new job schedule.
Speaking of jobs, I better get ready for work. Marybeth is probably in need of my assistance. Who knows what this woman's got herself into while I've been gone at school?
I put my stuff down on the table, emptied my bladder (yes, I took a piss, for some reason I don't like to use the word "pee", okay?) and then walked out the door.
My job is only about 15 minutes away from my house and the weather is always sunny, so I don't need to ask anyone for a ride. Traffic usually isn't bad, so I don't have to worry about getting ran over by a car and dying, you know how crazy drivers are these days, Killing citizens left and right. What? Bitches be crazy.
As the wind blows, my curly, brown hair falls out of my messy bun, so I decide to just leave it down for now. The streets are basically empty, only a few cars pass by every few minutes. Since no one is around and I still have that catchy Chorus song stuck in my head, I decide to take this time and sing.
Like most people, I hate the sound of my voice, but I can't get the damn song out of my head so maybe if I sing it too many times, I'll get sick of it. Also I still have yet to find out the meaning of this song, so singing it will might help me figure out what this song that Ms. Buckett is making us sing is actually about.
Now how does it start? Oh yeah.
I need a another story.
Something to get off my chest
My life gets kinda boring
Need something that I can confessSo I sing. I sing loud and happily. There's no one around, so why not, right?
Wrong.Wrong wrong wrong wrong. I don't realize it at first, but then I sense it. Someone was definitely following me. I kept turning around, hearing rustling in the bushes and crunching of sneakers against old seashells on the road. I decided to cut the song short, in fear of my safety, so I could find out if I was indeed being followed.
