My eyes wondered around the magnificent room, before making their way up the walls to the high ceiling above me.
"This is your room Mrs. oops, I mean Ms. Granger".
My eyes quickly fell to my left hand, where a wedding band once sat, signifying the love between Ron and i.
Professor McGonagall looked at me with regret washing over her eyes.
"It's okay, professor, really", I say, giving her an affirming smile.
"Okay dear. Well, please get settled in. We have a week till the students arrive. Please take time to travel the castle, see what is new and what still may hold a happy memory for you. I am so glad to have you Ms. Granger. You have been dearly missed".
Professor McGonagall gave me a hug and made her way to the door. "Oh, and Ms. Granger"? She asked me, standing with the door in her hand.
"I know you may have some bad memories here, but don't worry dear. Hogwarts has a way of bringing you want you most desire. All of the professors will be meeting tonight in the Great Hall. There will be new faces, and old ones. Please do join us".
I smiled at her, "Yes Professor McGonagall, I will be there".
"Splendid. See you then Ms. Granger. Or should I say Professor Granger"? Professor McGonagall softly smiled at me, before closing the door behind her.
Oh, how I have always wondered what the rooms of professors looked like when I was a first year. Now here I am, about to be a professor at Hogwarts. I noticed my trunks were already brought up, with most of my clothes, already hanging. "It will be strange not wearing a robe of my own". I whispered to myself, tracing my fingers along my Gryffindor robe that has been with me for so any years of my youth.
My room was beautiful. A view of the Black Lake in the distance, and high enough to watch the birds pass my window as I sit and read and prepare myself for lessons with my students. I looked out for a minute, taking in the beauty. The fireplace was grand and was the ideal reading light. I turn my attention down the hall and make my way to the bedroom. The magnificent king bed left a pit in my stomach, knowing the space of it was too much for myself, and I wouldn't bear to feel the emptiness of the spot next to me. I sigh as my fingers touch the soft throw on the corner. "This bed won't be much use to me, now, will it?" I say, pursing my lips. I take two of the pillows, and the throw form the top and take it to the sofa, looking out of the windows. "That's better".
It was time to freshen up before making my way to the great hall. As if my room wasn't glorious as it is, the bathroom I had as well was divine. With candles all around, a second fireplace, a great mirror and bath, I would bound to feel peace, even if for a moment. I started the bath and removed my clothes and pulled up my hair. I take my wand "incendio", I say, pointing my wand to the fireplace. As the bath filled, I stepped in, felling my shoulders ease with tension as I sank into the water, letting my head lay back. 'Hogwarts has a way of bringing to you what you most desire' McGonagall said. So, what is it that I desire?

In Healing Through Touch, Hermione and Ron never had children but were married. So, in the last scene of Harry Potter, in this fanfic, technically that ever happened. Part of me had trouble finding the best way for the plot to have Ron in the way i was hoping. After much trial and error, this is what seemed the best way for me to not have him involved without completely making Ronald seem like an ass :)
