After about 3 hours, Noah finally dropped off Kim. She walked into the house and started taking her shoes off. She had a smile on her face, but I had a feeling that something was wrong. After she went upstairs, I followed behind her to see what happened.
I opened her door and asked, "Hey, how did it go today at the mall with Noah?"
She shrugged her shoulders, but she started writing and I knew something was wrong. She gave me her notebook.
Well, at first it was quite fun. We shopped for some clothes for about 2 hours and went to get ice cream at Retro Cones. We went up to the second floor of the mall and kissed. It was honestly great and as we went to leave, his friend Erza showed up and told me about how he made a bet with Noah to hang out with me and talk to me.
It was certainly not what I was expecting to read today. I was mad at myself for even believing in Noah.
Why would Noah accept that? Why would he kiss her if it was just a bet? Does he even actually like Kim? I asked myself.
"Well, did he do anything else that would have suggested he liked you without the bet?" I asked her, trying to get an answer.
She grabbed the notebook and started writing. I was not ready for whatever I had to read.
Well, he was actually really sweet about everything. If I didn't wanna do something, he'd understand, and we'd go do something else. When I was nervous in the car, he let me play my music and laughed with me. I think I have a crush on him, but I don't think he feels the same way.
I was so confused on hearing about all of this stuff Noah did for my sister. I was quite proud but disappointed in him for choosing a bet to get to know my amazing sister. I don't want her getting hurt by him anymore. She doesn't deserve that, no person does.
"Kim, I don't think anything he did was real, y'know?" I suggested. "I mean sure, he could've been really nice to you, but I don't think that's really what he wanted. I think he just wanted to get the bet over with, to be honest."
She started crying and I held her. I knew she was sad about it. Someone being nice to her was a new concept, especially for high school. It was a shame that it wasn't even real.
"Let's go shopping for your dress all day tomorrow. I want you to really blast his friends and everyone at school out of this world." I suggested.
She liked that idea and smiled at me, that one smile I haven't seen in forever, the smile that made me smile.
