January 1, 1940 - 11:03 AM

I walked into the battlefield and collected some of the nazi's money, and so did Alicio. I felt rude taking items from the bodies of these men, because some nazis were forced to go to war, and I didn't want to be rude to those who were fighting because they were forced to fight. It made me feel sad for them.

"How much you got?" Alicio asked me looting another nazi.

"Uhh..." I said as I counted my money. "One fifty."

"One twenty here." He smiling.

"Isn't it a little cruel to take these people's money?" I asked Alicio.

"Not if you think they're dead. They don't need that money and it might as well help someone." He said trying to make it not seem bad.

"Ehh. I guess." I replied.

"I think our job is done." He said looking at me to reply.

"Yea, let's go back." I said walking back to the fort.

We walked back to the fort, and I decided I should ask him if he wanted to go to the bar.

"Hey Alicio, how about we go to the bar?"

"Why not?" He replied.

We walked to the bar, the ground was muddy and wet.

"Did it rain last night?" I asked Alicio.

"I guess so." I told him.

We walked into the bar, opening the wooden doors and getting inside.

I walked to the bartender.

"A regular coffee." I told the bartender.

And Alicio being fifteen, ordered a regular Ham sandwich. We sat down on a table of two.

I took a sip of the coffee.

"So, what are you planning on doing with that money?" Alicio asked me.

"I don't know, but I might save it for the future, just in case, like college and such." I answered.

"What if the war doesn't end, for a very long time?" He asked.

I knew some people thought that this war was so violent it was thought to never end, or to end in a long time, but I knew it would end eventually, one side would surrender at some point.

"It will end, trust me Alicio, and we will survive." I said to him.

"Do you really think that?" He asked letting out a single tear.

"Yes, of course we'll survive!" I told him joyfully, trying to make him cheered up.

Just then we heard airplanes outside, then an explosion.

BOOM! Followed by a lot more.

"ALICIO RUN, FOLLOW ME!" I yelled at him as I ran in toward the bar's kitchen.

We ran to the end of the kitchen.

"What now?!" Said Alicio nearly crying.

"Over there!" I said pointing at a ladder outside. We climbed up the ladder and were on the wall of the fort.

"Let's go to the towers and use a rope to get down!" I yelled as I ran to the tower.

I got to the tower and I could see the waves of airplanes bombing the fort. I grabbed a rope that was laying on a desk, tied it to a ring connected to the tower meant for attaching ropes and climbed down. I was now down, out of the fort with just Alicio.

"We have to find Alex!" I yelled.

"We're not going in there!" He yelled back.

"We might have to." I said to him knowing the danger that might come out of it.

We started walking around the fort, all on fire and blown up. The planes were finally gone and left almost no one alive, maybe just we survived... Then I saw a silhouette that I couldn't recognize because of smoke covering him up and fire right behind the person.

"ALEX? Is it you?" I yelled at the figure.

Then I heard the faint weak voice say,

"Help."

I ran to him and Alicio was right behind. The person was laying down on its stomach, and when I came close enough, I knew it was Alex. I held his arm and pulled him up, he looked good but his face was dirty.

"Are you alright?" I asked him.

"Yea." He simply answered.
