*Sophie's pov*
I'm towards the end of my pregnancy and I must say things are starting to get real and hard! One second is all good and the next I'm really emotional or super hungry or super horny... Tom has been an angel since the beginning and he is even more now, and sweet Mackayla is trying her best to let me relax. I've thought about how I could thank them for all they've been doing lately and since I'm too tired and lazy to go around and grab gifts I just decided to bake a cake for them for a snack this afternoon, Mac is in school and Tom is with Luke talking about future projects so I have all the time I need.
Strawberry cake is our favorite so thank god we have strawberries in our fridge right now. I smash half of the strawberries and mix them with the flour, eggs, baking powder and oil, then put them in a pan and into the oven; while it bakes i smash the other half of the fruit and prepare the cream cheese that goes on top. Once the cake has cooled down I cover it with cream cheese and put two strawberries as decoration.
At four thirty sharp they both enter our home with big smiles while they talk of their day. "Hi mum!" "Hi sweety!" I say kissing her cheek briefly and watch her for a second as she goes wash her hands "Darling" Tom says coming to me and kissing my lips ever so softly "how are my girls?" He asks gently rubbing my big tummy "Good! Some kicking, not much luckily" "I seem better today" "Not as tired as last week" "That's good" "You two go change I have a surprise for you!" "Ok!" They say In the couple of minutes they are upstairs I set on the kitchen counter the cake and three plates "What's this?" "What do you think it is Mac?" "Our favorite cake!!!" "Oh yes darling you are amazing!" Tom says once he sees it "Shall we dig in?" "Uhuh!" We eat the cake in silence savoring the fresh taste of it "Why?" "Why what Tom?" "Why did you bake this?" "Because I felt like I needed to thank the both of you for all the things you've been doing for me" "You didn't have to mummy" she says coming to hug me "She's right love, you didn't" "I wanted to" "Than thank you" We stay cuddled on the sofa for the rest of the day since tomorrow is Saturday and Mac doesn't need to do homework now.
