A New Discovery

Chapter 3

     "Jason!" Leo whisper yelled into the Zeus cabin later that night. He was furious about what he heard about the girl he had come to respect and see so highly.
    Jason appeared in the doorway wiping the sleep out of his eyes and groggily said, "What, Leo? I was sleeping."
    "Dude you have to hear this. Let me in." Leo said hastily which made Jason cringe. In his groggy state he just thought he was being energetic about a new invention that he and his siblings had made. But boy was he about to find out.
    "Leo, can't you just tell me in the morning? It's like ten thirty dude." Jason whined out to him which was out of character.
    "No Jason, seriously let me in. it's important." When Leo said that it got Jason's attention. He finally heard the tone of Leo's voice and getting a better look at his face he was pissed.
    "Okay." Was all he said and he opened the door all the way letting Leo in. He closed the door and they both walked over to his bed and sat down.(I forgot to mention that this is after TOA and Jason didn't die but he and Piper did break up~An)
    "So, what's up?" Jason asked him. It was like Leo was just waiting for him to ask because as soon as he said that he just started to ramble.
    "So you know how I said I had to go to the big house to see Dr.Solace tonight about my medicine? Well when I was there and about to leave I heard Percy talking to Chiron and I got curious I guess and holy crap dude you won't believe it! So Percy was bummed after his appointment, right? Well apparently he has autism which is fine, he's still just percy but apparently Annabeth doesnt think so and she BROKE up with him." He took a deep breath and then continued ranting, "And I'm sooooo PISSED dude cause like Percy is like a god almost and he has literally saved the world twice. He's an actual hero and she dumped him like trash completely betraying him and- man you should have heard him. He sounded so numb at first it was kinda scary but then he kinda like, broke down, you know, and got, like, super emotional and boy was Chiron mad."
    Jason was wide eyed at what he was hearing. 'Annabeth broke up with Percy?' It didn't sit right with him. They had been together for almost two years and then she dumps him over something like that. He understood what Leo was feeling but something else had been nagging at Jason since yesterday, which was when he had his appointment with Dr.Solace

    Jason was sitting in Dr.Solace's office for his appointment and everything was going well until they started talking about Piper. They had broken up a while ago because both of them just didn't feel right in the relationship and so they went on as friends, but Jason had a secret. He didn't only like women, he liked men too. And when he was with Piper he found out that he actually didn't like women at all.
    And so he told only two people.  Dr.Solace, and Nico. Nico and him had gotten very close after the whole cupid thing and when Nico was feeling down one day about being gay Jason had told him that he was too. It had been after the whole Apollo fiasco and he and Piper had broken up so telling more people wasn't something he was as opposed to anymore and he trusted Nico with his life, so it wasnt that much of a big deal to him.

    "Leo." Jason said suddenly interrupting Leo's neverending tirade and took his hand in his as a comfort to himself more than anything.
    Leo's hands were small but very strong and callused from working in bunker nine and in the hephaestus cabin all day and sometimes night long.
    "Jason?" Leo asked, looking at him questioningly but not moving his hands away either.
    "I have to tell you something leo, but you have to be quiet about it okay. I don't really want people to know yet."
    "Okay man, shoot."(I also want to say that Leo and Calypso didn't happen but she is free lol.~An)
    "Well you know that me and Piper broke up because it didn't feel right? Well that's not really the only reason on my part."
    "Oh my god did the beauty queen do something like Annabeth did to Percy? If so I'm gonna find her and pull the most crazy stuff on her man.'' Leo said fiercely but in a sort of joking way.
    "No, nothing like that, Piper didn't do anything, it's just, well." He paused before just deciding to get it over with. "Im gay Leo. I was bi before but now after having a real full time girlfriend I realize that I just like men." He cringed after admitting that and hoping he really would be okay with Leo after this. What Jason wasn't expecting though was to hear laughing coming from Leo, but not a criticizing laugh. It was a laugh of pure joy and humor.
    He just looked at Leo perplexed and that only made Leo laugh harder. "Oh my gods dude, you should see your face!" Leo went into another fit of laughter after that. Jason didn't get why he was laughing though and got kinda impatient after a while, wanting to know what was so funny.
    "What on earth are you laughing about?" Jason said.
    After a minute Leo finally calmed down and said, "Dude, were you really worried that I wouldn't accept you or something? Jason im gay too. I'm surprised that you, being fruity too, hadn't noticed by now."
    "Oh." Was all Jason said as he just closed his eyes for a minute and then burst out laughing which caused Leo to laugh too.
    It wasn't often the two got to spend much time together and when they did it was during the Giant War on the Argo II. They had both really missed each other which is why what Leo did next was a shock to Jason.
    "Jason, don't freak out, okay?" Leo said before leaning in and pressing his lips against Jasons. At first he didn't really know what to do out of pure shock but then he kissed him back. Leo's lips were soft and small just like he was which made Jason smile into the kiss affectionately. Leo pulled back then and smiled back up at him.
    "What are you smiling about?"
    "What are YOU smiling about?" And with that they both started laughing again. It was hard to have moments like this with the lives they both lived and it was easy to forget that they really were just kids. They didn't get the guarantee of a full life or long, loving relationships. It was all up to the fates and they just had to deal with it.
    After a minute of just sitting in a peaceful silence Leo couldn't take it anymore and started to fidget nervously. "Jason, what are we?" He suddenly asked, breaking the silence.
     Jason looked at him and said, "Whatever you want us to be, Leo. I think this," He gestured between them both, "is something I want to explore, if you are willing to as well."
     Leo just blushed slightly and nodded. He had actually been wanting to do that for a while now, not that anyone would ever find that out. Jason smiled warmly at him, his scar standing out a little more when he did and leaned in once more and kissed him while grabbing Leo's hands into his own. It was a sweet and gentle kiss and definitely not what most people would expect kissing Jason Grace would be like.
     Leo of course kissed him back, and gave his hands a gentle squeeze. Jason's lips were slightly chapped and he wouldn't have had them any other way.
    After another long kiss they both pulled away and sighed, satisfied with that amount of affection for now. After a while of sitting in the bed curled up against one another, Leo heard light snores coming from Jason and he too, fell asleep.
                   ~~~~in the morning~~~~
    Leo heard a rustling sound next to him and woke up to find himself in the strong tanned arms of Jason. His boyfriend. He still couldn't believe it was real and he hoped that he wasn't dreaming. Leo didn't think that Jason was waking up on his own anytime soon though and he just layed in his arms enjoying his embrace.

    An hour later Leo finally felt Jason shift behind him and he removed his arms to stretch them in the air yawning. He mumbled out a good morning before getting up and stretching fully.
    "Good morning to you too, sleeping beauty." Leo said smirking as he laid in the bed still with his head resting on his hand.
    Jason just rolled his eyes at him and reached out a hand which Leo gladly took and pulled him off of the bed into a quick kiss.
    "We should go get ready for breakfast, the horn should go off soon." Jason said and Leo nodded his head in agreement. But thinking about breakfast led to another thing that he would have to confront today. The Percy situation.
    Leo and Percy hadn't really gotten off on the right foot with all of the possession and shooting the baliste off on new Rome thing, but after all that they went through together he definitely cared for Percy and they were both really good friends. And like they say, bros before h o e s, right?
    "Hey Jason, what are we gonna do about the whole Percy situation?'' Leo asked him uncertainty.
    "Well, first we should confront Percy about it and tell him that we know of his situation and support him. But until we get all the details from him and confront him I don't think we should do anything at breakfast.'' Jason said logically and Leo nodded his head in agreement before another thought hit him.
    "And what about us? Who are we telling if we do tell anyone at all? I'm fine with keeping it a secret if that's what you want." Leo asked Jason again and he was being honest. He didnt care what Jason wanted to do as long as he was happy. Jason was a very simple person, probably the most easy person to understand out of all of their friends and he liked simplicity when it came to people. People were difficult and hard to understand. If they get broken it's a lot harder to fix than a machine and that was what Leo was good at. Fixing machines was something he knew and was familiar with, but Leo had spent so long on his own when he was younger that he didn't really get human feelings anymore as silly as it seemed.
     Suddenly the horn for breakfast blew and the two headed down to the dining pavilion and spotted the others, but no Percy. They shared a look before sitting down and joining in on the conversation.
    "Hey guys!" Leo said cheerfully. He got multiple waves and hellos in return.
    "Morning guys." Jason followed after him and then asked what he was sure his boyfriend was wondering about. "Uh, where is Percy?"
     When Jason asked, he was sent multiple shrugs and 'I don't knows' from everyone at the table. Except Annabeth.
     "Do you know where he is Annabeth?" Leo asked her almost venomously which got the attention of the other members of the table immediately.
    "Hey man what's with the tone? Is something going on?" Nico asked him in an almost defensive voice. Of course he didn't know what she did so he was only right to protect her.
     Leo and Jason shared a look before nodding and grabbing each side of Nico and pulling him up with them. They didnt know why really at the time of course but they just had a feeling that they could trust Nico with this.
    "What- hey! Stop dragging me you jerks!" Nico struggled before coming to the conclusion that the only way out was shadow travel and he didn't think that was the best idea so he just relaxed and let the drag him.
     They continued until they got back to the Zeus cabin and they slipped inside before finally letting Nico go which got them both a swift punch to the gut.
    "Are you two gonna tell me what the he ll that was about?" He shouted at them both angrily.
    "Look, dude I feel like we can trust you with this mainly because I do trust you a lot and you're one of my best friends so just shut up and listen, okay?" Jason said quickly before grabbing Leo's hand and blurting out, "We're dating!"
     Nicos eyes widened in shock and he just gaped at them for a moment before pulling himself together. "You two. You're dating. Really?" He asked incredulously while pointing between them still shell shocked which would have made the boys laugh if it weren't for the reason they had really brought Nico there.
    "Yeah we are but that's not the point dude." Leo said, interrupting Nicos disbelief and he watched as it instantly turned to a serious and concerned face.
    "What then? Is it bad? Is there gonna be another war?" He asked hurriedly.
"No just- you better sit down for this okay?"
