A New Discovery

Chapter 4

"What?!" Nico whispered after Leo and Jason told him about what Annabeth did and his reaction was what they had expected. He was PISSED.
    "Yeah man it sucks. I feel really bad for Percy but we should probably go find out where he is." Jason said getting up from his bed where they all had sat down while talking and the other boys followed him nodding in agreement.
    "Do you guys know where he may have gone?" Leo asked.
    "He may be in his cabin or in the big house with Chiron still but I doubt it." Nico suggested.
    "Well let's check his cabin first and then we can check the big house." Jason said and the others just nodded and they all headed out of the Zeus cabin and made their way to the Poseidon cabin.
    "Percy!" Nico called into the cabin while knocking on the door.
    They heard a groan come from inside the cabin and a small 'coming' before the door opened revealing a shriveled looking Percy.
    "Hey guys what's up?" He said groggily, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He was wearing a blue hoodie for his high school swim team and gray sweatpants.
    "Hey man, we just wanted to figure out where you were since you weren't at breakfast." Jason said and then looked at Leo pointedly. "Also Leo has something he needs to confess and we came for moral support." Nico nodded along with what Jason said and then proceeded to push past Percy and grab his arm, dragging him back to his bed and sitting down.
    Leo and Jason just looked at each other with raised eyebrows before shrugging and walking in closing the door behind them.
    Percy still looked tired and now that he was back in his bed the others were afraid he would fall asleep.
    "Okay percy, before you doze off again let me tell you what's up." Leo said and took a deep breath before saying, "I know you're autistic and I know what happened with Annabeth."
    Percy's eyes widened and he had woken up considerably after learning this. "What, how? Did she tell you guys about it?" He said with tears almost falling from his eyes. Seeing that though, Nico just pulled Percy into his arms and held him to his chest.
    Percy's heart was pounding now and his mind was absolutely racing with thoughts. 'Would they leave me too? I never wanted them to find out.'
    Thinking about his friends leaving him too made Percy's heart feel like shattering and he just started sobbing into Nicos chest now blabbering almost incoherent words.
    "I didn't want you guys to know! I didn't want anyone to know! I was just going to tell Anne but then she left me!" He said, still sobbing and it broke the three boys' hearts.
    "Oh Percy, it's okay. You don't have to worry about her anymore. She didn't tell anyone and I don't think she will okay?'' Nico said comfortingly and softly which was not usual for him but it immediately calmed the boy down.
    Jason and Leo just looked kind of stunned at the scene. Between Percy completely breaking down like this and with Nicos kind words and actions the two were at a loss.
    "I-im sorry man. I was in the big house to pick up my medicine and overheard your conversation. I-i promise I won't tell anyone else though okay? I just thought because I trust Jason a lot and was super pi ss ed about what Annabeth did and-" Leo started babbling but was stopped when Percy laid a hand on his and smiled sadly. If Leo had not gotten better control of his powers he might have burst into flames on the spot. He looked down, blushing slightly. "I'm just really sorry, okay?"
    Percy just kept on smiling at him and tightened his hold on Leo's hand and on Nicos shirt. He was glad that they were accepting but he was worried about Jason's silence. 'What if he was disappointed in me too?' he didn't think he could handle it if he was tossed aside again by someone so important to him.
    "Jason?" Percy said quietly. It was uncertain and almost like a question and Jason realized that his silence was probably making Percy nervous.
    "Ah- I'm sorry I was caught up in the moment I guess. Don't worry Percy. Everything is going to be alright." Jason said comfortingly in a way that made Percy melt into Nicos chest even more. The boy hadn't let go of Percy yet and he was glad. They fell into a comfortable silence after Percy had smiled at Jason just like he had Leo. The boys feel more content than ever. More relaxed than ever. Like they were just normal boys who lived normal lives and they were content.
    Leo wasn't feeling jumpy like usual and wasn't waiting to leave the situation to get back to the hephaestus cabin either. He was happy being here with them. Holding Percy's hand. Sitting with Nico and Jason. It was like his life had been completed once he had entered the room with them.
    Nico felt something he had not felt since he was young and his mother and Bianca had been alive. Pure happiness. It was like being here with them had filled the hole in his heart and he was for once, content. He didn't feel like running away, or shadow traveling away from his life. He felt like a piece of his life's puzzle had clicked together.
    Jason didn't know what the feeling was, but he knew it made him happy. It was almost like what he had felt last night with Leo. He was content though. He didn't feel the burden of being a leader or the burden of all of his life's hardships. He didn't have flashbacks to the war, or to his childhood. His only thought was them.
    Percy was a mess for sure, and he wasn't sure what it was he was feeling, but he knew it was a feeling stronger than anything he had ever felt before. It was nice to know that he had them to rely on, and to know that they accepted him. It was like his whole life was irrelevant compared to this moment and he felt things he hadn't in a long time. Safe. Happy. Content.
    Leo moved his hand to rest in jasons and he leaned his head on Nico's shoulder closing his eyes. Nico laid his head on Leos and closed his eyes too. Jason closed his hand around Leo's and slid his arm around both Nico and Percy.
    Even though it should have felt wrong because he was dating Leo, I didn't. It was like since it was them nothing would have mattered. It was like suddenly everything was calm and perfect. They just made sense, and suddenly Jason finally realized what he felt and what was happening.
    "I think I love you guys. All of you." He said suddenly, interrupting their silence quietly, but his words fell on sleeping ears and he sighed fondly before he too closed his eyes and fell asleep.
