The boys all ate breakfast together and decided that they would meet up later to spend their day off together. Jason and Leo were going to hang out in bunker nine and Percy and Nico were going to go to the beach and to swim.
Once they had finished eating they went their separate ways. Jason and Leo headed into the woods and started their trek to the bunker. Leo always spent most of his time there anyway so this wasn't unusual but Jason had rarely ever accompanied him.
Piper, who had been watching from afar at the table with Hazel, Frank, and Annabeth, was very curious as to their recent change in relation. They were obviously best friends, everyone knew that, but this morning when they had come to breakfast she had seen a slight change in the way they acted around one another.
Maybe it was her Aphrodite powers that let her see this but she sensed an almost romantic? Kind of aura around them. She didn't think the others could see that much but she could tell that they were curious about this morning and at the sudden separation with Percy and Annabeth.
When Percy had come down for lunch he didn't even glance towards them and that came as a shock for all of them. Percy was like a lost puppy without Annabeth and now it seemed like that connection was gone and instead there could be a sort of animosity between them. It also seemed like the same aura that she sensed around Jason and Leo was also going around Nico and percy.
She decided that she would bring it up to the others and see what they thought because if what she thought was true then Percy could be cheating on Annabeth with Nico.
"Hey did you guys notice how Percy and the other boys didn't even glance this way when they came in? I mean normally Percy is bounding over here to Annabeth, what's up with that?" Piper said, gaining the attention of the others at the table.
"Yeah, and what's up with Leos attitude this morning, he was super hostile towards Annabeth and then they all left and didn't come back until lunch.'' Frank asked, also suspicious of the sudden change in atmosphere.
He didn't mind the girls' company obviously but if the others were going off on their own without the girls, or there was something going on with them then he wanted to know. He was kind of hurt that he didn't actually know.
"I agree as well. Jason was also glaring at her this morning which is pretty out of character for him. He normally keeps his emotions on a tight leash." Hazel brought up as she looked back on breakfast.
"Well, Percy probably told them about our break up and they're just being good friends supporting him.'' Annabeth said suddenly and getting all three heads twisting towards her so fast she thought they would get whiplash.
"You guys broke up! Why didn't you say something? Are you alright?'' Piper said worried for her best friend.
"I'm fine, I broke up with him after all. I just realized that he wasn't good enough for me." She responded, shocking them all with her answer.
"I support self confidence but that's kind of mean. Percy is a really good guy. Is that seriously the only reason you broke up with him?'' Piper asked her, still slightly shocked at what she had heard.
Annabeth and Percy were basically like the demigod world's celebrity couple basically and them breaking up was something impossible. If Annabeth had really just broken up with Percy because she thought she was better than him then Piper really needed to evaluate her best friend better.
Percy was seriously a good guy, sort of a mama's boy but that was a good quality too. Not to mention he's saved the world twice and is deadly handsome. All of the Aphrodite kids swooned over him and that was a great feat in itself. They all could appreciate someone's beauty but they hardly ever all swooned over one collective person.
Piper felt extremely bad for Percy now after thinking it over for a minute. No way was Annabeth that stupid and full of her self right? I mean she was a war hero, but aren't they all? Surely it couldn't have gotten to her head that much.
Hazel was on the same string of thoughts. Percy had been the one who had really brought the Greeks and Romans together and he really did do so much more than the rest of them. He had been the leader in two wars and great prophecies, and had even been offered immortality only to deny it for the better of others. If anything Annabeth was not good enough for Percy, not the other way around. Sure she was with him through those quests but she had a whole life to prepare for that while Percy only had two weeks of training before he literally fought a god and won. Annabeth was letting her role as Percy's side piece get to her head. If it weren't for him she probably wouldn't even be known to the whole demigod world.
Hazel's thoughts must have shown on the face because Annabeth suddenly looked sour and spoke harshly. "What? Are you taking his side? I mean, clearly I'm better than he is! Without me we would have lost both wars with him leading us! He's an idiot and would be dead without someone else's help! He's just a defenseless, useless little puppy without anyone else around him to give him orders! A servant! He could die for all I care!" She suddenly started shouting like a madwoman and all the other tables were looking at her like she was crazy.
"Annabeth! In my office! Now!" Chiron yelled to her from where he sat with Dionysus. He looked purely angry and the campers all cringed away from him. The last time Chiron had looked that angry was when a camper had been trying to kill one of the other kids in camp during training and even then he didn't look as mad as he did now.
Annabeth just glared at the campers that she passed by as she walked over to Chiron angrily. However as she passed by the side closest to the forest she saw the boys, Jason, Leo, Nico, and Percy all sitting together laughing oblivious to what was happening. That seemed to set her off more and suddenly she was screaming again.
"It's all his fault! He's a useless freak! I've seen him do it! I've seen him bend the poison and the blood! He's a monster! He enjoyed it when he killed that goddess! When he killed misery itself! He probably thrived down there in Tartarus! He probably was hoping no one would be on the other side to save me! It's all his fault! It was all his fault that Bob and Damasen died! I'll kill him! Let me go! I'll kill him!" She screamed as Clarisse and Will came over and Will gave her a sedative to knock her out. Soon she fell limp and the onlookers just stood unable to really comprehend what had happened.
They all looked at Percy then and that's when Dionysus walked over to Percy and grabbed his arm whispering to him before they both disappeared into thin air. All of the campers had questions about what Annabeth had said. Obviously she wasn't in the right state of mind but who would be after what she had gone through. But they all had forgotten one important detail. Percy had gone through it too. They had been in Tartarus together and had suffered together.
It had been a good day for Percy and Nico. They went to the beach and walked around and swam together for a few hours before going to meet up with Leo and Jason for a picnic. They weren't really gonna eat a meal, it was more of a chill and eat snacks kind of deal.
They had hung around for maybe an hour before they had heard the commotion from the dining pavilion. When the screaming got louder after stopping for a moment they all looked over and saw it was Annabeth. She was screaming and pointing their way at who they assumed was Percy, and what she was saying was terrible.
They could only worry about Percy though as he suddenly shriveled up into himself and sobbed. The things that she was saying were things that Percy wanted to forget with every fiber of his being. He didn't mean to kill Misery. He didn't want to either. And killing the arai had been a complete shock and surprise to himself and Annabeth. She hadn't even seen him do it and the only reason he did was because he wanted to save her. And Bob, oh gods, when she mentioned Bob and Damasen he practically shriveled as little as he could get and was choking on his own tears. He didn't want any of that.
Suddenly though the screaming stopped and Dionysus was there grabbing Percy and disappearing off to what they thought would be Olympus. They were worried about what would happen to Percy once there though. If what she had said had been true then the gods could use that as an excuse to get rid of him. They would be afraid of his power and kill him. They had already threatened once after he saved the world the first time and they didn't doubt that they would do it again.
They had been right and Dionysus had indeed brought the sobbing boy to Olympus with him. If what he heard was correct then they needed to take precautions to keep themselves safe. Percy was strong. Really strong and if he had killed a god then they needed to figure out how.
He let Percy calm down first before taking him to the throne room where he deposited him with Hestia and asked her to call the Olympians for a meeting. Soon all the gods were there and in their thrones looking to Dionysus curiously. He rarely ever called meetings so they were wondering if it had something to do with the camps.
"Hello, as you can clearly see, I have Percy Jackson here and after some shocking events at camp today I feel something should be discussed." Dionysus said in a serious tone.
"Well, let's hear it then." Zeus said curiously with an air of confidence.
"So, we are all aware of Percy and Annabeths little trip to the pit right?" Dionysus says getting nods in return. "Well we are still unaware of what actually happened down there and Annabeth Chase had a bit of a psychotic breakdown at dinner and spilled some interesting details."
"Is she alright?" Athena said almost stoically but you could tell she was concerned.
"Yes, she was given a sedative and taken to the infirmary after and I grabbed Perseus and brought him here."
"Then what was said? Hurry this up Dionysus." Zeus said arrogantly.
"Annabeth mentioned an interaction they had with the goddess of misery, saying that Percy had 'controlled' her blood and poison and was smiling cruelty while doing this. Now, I don't believe in this because Jackson has saved the world many times and is unfortunately, a good kid, but if it is true then we need to know and come to a conclusion because she also said that he killed her."
His words gained him many shocked looks and Zeus looked enraged. Percy had been listening from where he sat with Hestia and got up from where he sat to stand beside Dionysus.
Zeus looked at him fiercely. "Well, is this true or not sea spawn?"
Percy sighed and looked at Zeus plainly. "Look, I did in fact do the blood bending and poison bending but, I absolutely did not enjoy doing it and you also have to take into account that we were in freaking Tartarus! We were literally surviving by drinking liquid fire! Literally! So i'm sorry if I was kind of suffocated by the idea of having to save my girlfriends life and you know, the whole freaking world, but it was a life or death situation and I didnt even know I could do that until that moment." He shouted angrily at not just Zeus but all of the gods. He was ticked off with having to deal with them all. He had saved them twice now and he had lost friends and allies in the process. He didn't want to deal with them anymore, he just wanted to go and relax back at camp with Nico, Jason, and Leo. He wanted to see his mom, he wanted to see Paul, he wanted to just be happy and normal for once in his life. He wanted to go to school and get a degree and become a marine scientist, and be normal. No wars, no death, no sadness, just him and the people he loved.
"So you admit to this fully then?"
"Yes, obviously! Didn't I just say that? I don't care what you think because ultimately i've gone through hell and back to save all of your asses and you guys seriously owe me the world and more, but instead, all I want is to go back to camp to Nico, Jason, and Leo and swim and be happy, is that so much to ask? I want to see my mom, Zeus, and if you can't let the guy who's done so much for you not have that then you are seriously a bad guy and you can count my help as off limits in the future." He seethed.
"You shall not speak to me in that tone demigod!" he thundered. "We shall take a vote on whether or not to kill this demigod, or to let him live. All in favor of death?" No hands except his were raised and Percy physically relaxed. "All in favor of keeping him alive?" all hands were raised and Zeus looked ticked.
"I think you have taken this a bit far honey, I mean the boy is right, besides I have questions for him now that that's out of the way." Hera said to her husband.
"Yes, me too. How come you didn't mention Annabeth in your little spiel Percy dear~? Is it that you have perhaps gotten into an argument?'' Aphrodite asked him slyly using a bit of charm speak on him.
He knew what she was doing but didn't fight it at all. He really didn't care about telling the gods, it's not like they wouldn't find out eventually. Plus he had enough respect for Hades to at least let him know he was dating his son.
"Well, if you have to know, Annabeth broke up with me, and so the next day I got with Nico Di Angelo." He said the last part looking at Hades somewhat shyly. "It was pretty sudden honestly and I think there might be a thing going on with Leo and Jason too so there's that."
"Wow, I thought you were dense but clearly I was wrong about you perseus. That 'thing' with Jason and Leo would happen to be me! Think of it as my gift to you. I knew that once you and Annabeth broke up that you would need a new support symptom so I obviously pulled some strings and now Jason and Leo are dating and you and Nico are dating and soon, you will all be together in one happy little foursome relationship! Isn't it great?" Aphrodite said happily and the other gods were looking at her like she was crazy.
"So, let me get this straight, you wanted to make Percy here happy or whatever so you got all three of the strongest demigods of this generation together and decided that they should pursue him?" Ares said incredulously.
    "Yup!"
"And you don't see anything wrong with this? At all?'' Poseidon asked her.
"No, why are you all looking at me like that anyway? It was a good idea and we all know that no more wars are coming so why not give our heroes a happy ending?" She shrugged after making that point.
"Wait a dang minute. You're saying that this is all on you?" Percy asked, clearly upset.
"Well it's not like the feelings weren't there already, I just made them more apparent. Nico had been in love with you for a long time, and Jason and Leo have had a little thing for a while, I didn't really have to push that, and Jason and Nico have had a thing too. Plus, your little feelings with Jason and Leo were actually very small so I made them a bit bigger and tada! Relationship!" She said justifying her actions.
"So, that's just an inevitable thing then?" he asked her.
"Basically, and you should be honored I gave you such a gift. Not one, not two, but three lovers, that's a big gift Percy."
"Right, thank you Aphrodite." He said only to humor her but he did understand that this was kind of a big deal so he should be happy. "I do mean that in a weird way though. You really are a nice goddess."
"See! There you go, your welcome Percy." Aphrodite exclaimed to him happily.
"So I can take him back to camp now?" dionysus asked them all, back to his usual self.
"Sure, yes, whatever! Go ahead." Zeus said irritated and flashed out of the room.         Dionysus then proceeded to grab Percy's arm again and he closed his eyes as they flashed away to camp.
When they got there the three boys were all in bunker nine together all letting their stress out in different ways. Leo was fiddling with some spare parts of some machine, Jason was pacing around in the air, and Nico was pacing on the floor. When they heard the two men arrive in nthe bunker they all snapped out of their dazes and looked towards them happily.
"Percy!" they chorused.
Dionysus rolled his eyes. "No 'hello mr.d! How are you?'" He didnt really mind though and just flashed out of there into the big house to Chiron.
