"Regulus? As in my brother Regulus?" Sirius asked. James nodded. It became quiet. James looked shy, Remus thought it was the weirdest thing he had ever seen. Sirius just stared at him. The tension was so solid that if Remus wanted to he was sure he could cut it.
"And you'll treat him right?" Sirius asked. James looked up at him, shock being the only emotion in his face.
"Y-yes, of course!"
"And he treats you right?"
"Yes, he'll probably kill me for this but, he's really sweet."
Remus smiled, Regulus was pretty sweet around James, but he would also hit him in the back of the head if he did or said something stupid. Which was almost daily.
"Good, can we arrange a double date now?" Remus asked, trying to lighten up the mood.
"Absolutely not." James said.
"No chance." Sirius added.
"Why?"
"Dates are sacred! ...And double dates are weird, you have to be sweet to you partner but also make conversation!" James explained.
"Oh, right. You can't do more that one thing at a time." Remus teased.
"Oh, shut up. I have some homework to do, if you don't mind." Sirius said and started to walk out.
"Well, you'll be needing help, I assume?" Remus grinned.
"Shut it and get down here!" Sirius yelled.
Life can't get much better from now on, can it? James thought, racing past Remus. Regulus will love the news! Maybe we can get married in some years, when it legal. Get a kid, Harry is a good name, I'll have to ask him about that. Well have to make Sirius and Remus godfathers!
