ellie was busy admiring the ladybug on yunhos hand, not noticing him staring at her.
when she turned to look at him, he didn't even look away.
the male looked at her lips, pursing his own after returning his gaze back on her eyes.
"yunho.." she called, softly.
"sorry," he shook his head, "i'm probably just tired, i'll head in for the night. is that okay with you?"
"of course!" she nearly stammered, "if you wanna rest, then go ahead. i'll just run back to yeo sitting by the lake."
yunho hesitated, but leaned in to press a small peck to her nose. "goodnight then, tiny." he chuckled, retrieving his hand slowly to pat her head and leave to his tent.
ellie sat stunned on the log, cupping her face with her own hands, feeling the temperature of her body rise.
"holy..." she muttered, not even being able to finish her sentence.
quickly, she found herself sitting next to yeosang again.
"do you think we still have some leftover fried chicken?" he asked, completely out of the blue.
she looked at him, baffled. but she nodded. "yeah, i saw seonghwa pack some in tinfoil inside of the bucket near his tent."
"great, good breakfast. if yunho doesn't go to suck onto all of it before i do." yeosang rolled his eyes.
"you're odd." she smiled, "but i guess that's what people like about you."
yeosang couldn't help but smile as well.
"it was hard getting people to like me honestly," he started off, "is it okay if i tell you? i don't wanna sound like a drama queen or anything if i spill shit."
"be my guest! i have no protests," ellie assured him.
"great, uhm, this'll sound awkward but, i'll try my best to explain." yeosang nervously chuckled.
"people very honestly didn't like me because of the way i looked. they said i looked more like a foreigner than a fully korean, that i didn't fit the beauty standard and that i should rather commit my initials." he laughed.
ellie grimaced, scrunching her nose. "i'm sorry."
"why're you apologizing? there's nothing you should be sorry for." he said, "it's the past and something i'll never be able to change. as much as it scarred me, i've learned to just ignore it. it does hurt me every now and then, but it's okay."
the girl nodded, "come here," she opened her arms.
dumbfounded, yeosang looked at her.
"you look like you need a hug. you deserve one for the shit you've gone through. now, come here." she signaled.
yeosang sighed deeply, turning his body to her and finally leaning into her embrace.
"you have to let things out, y'know?" she rubbed his back, soothingly, "it's not okay to keep it all to yourself, yeosang. i can tell how long you've hidden this, tell someone you know you trust. like me! unless you don't think i'm that trustworthy, but i always have an open ear."
