Omg another update?! A day after I last updated?! Wow I must be dying

There’ll be a surprise close to the end!
Well, two surprises I think hehe

When the initial shock of seeing the very obvious stab wound had worn off (and Elias had mumbled that he didn’t know what happened a couple of times) the family decided to join the others. His father gave him an encouraging smile. He grinned back hesitantly and fell into step beside his sister.

Abby immediately told him that he needed to be updated on what he had missed since he had been gone, which was quite frankly absolutely nothing, but Elias listened intently to his 14-year-old sister’s ramblings. Abby jumped up and down, sprinting ahead and trotting back after, demonstrating each story thoroughly.

It cheered him up significantly, though the little breakdown he had earlier was still ever present in the back of his mind.

He glanced back and found his parents looking at them both with a soft and happy smile on their faces. Elias beamed at them and turned his attention back to his sister’s story about how Mr. Wolkar had almost gotten buried beneath his own bookcase, which had fallen over seemingly out of nowhere. He couldn’t help but smile at the obvious guilty grin plastered on Abby’s face, but decided not to comment on it.

When the small family finally joined the other three in the Salinas house, Riry had somehow made an entire tray of sandwiches. No one had eaten breakfast yet and they were all quite hungry.

Well, except for Elias.

They all took a seat at the table and the living all grabbed a sandwich, all painfully aware of the awkward silence that suddenly filled the room.

Elias’ father cleared his throat after he swallowed a bite of his sandwich. “May I ask how you kids met? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before.”

Aza blinked and shot a look at Elias, who shrugged. “Oh no, we, uh, we actually met a couple of days ago.” At Hector’s incredulous expression she scrambled for words to reassure him, an embarrassed flush coating her cheekbones. “It’s been a hectic couple of days, you see. Your son is lovely.”

“He’s gay, miss.” Abby said with her mouth full, staring at Aza intensely. “He’s also taken.”

Aza choked on her sandwich, Elias choked on air, and they both got into a coughing fit. Xavier allowed a little smile to creep up on his face, while the others chuckled.

“I’m not- I-” Aza squeaked, her face a perfect tomato-red.

“Don’t mind Abby, she has a bit of a behavioral problem.” Elias said when he recovered, glaring at his sister, who gave him a shit-eating grin.

“Elias, be nice to your sister.” His father scolded with a smirk on his face.

“Wh- She started it!”

“Children, children, calm down.” His mother said. “Let’s just enjoy dinner and get to know each other.” She smiled kindly at the others. “Oh, where are my manners, my name is Eleanor, but please call me Ellie. This is Hector and you’ve met Abby…”

They ended up staying for two more days, which was shorter than any of them would’ve liked, but when they explained they were on a quest the family was quite adamant that they get going. They also added that they hoped to see them all again. Elias had been the most reluctant to go, feeling as if this would be the last time he ever visited them all.
