Elias' POV
He felt the necromancer's magic invading his muscles, forcing them to contract without his consent. He couldn't speak, couldn't even move his head. Vazor kept him paralyzed, completely at his mercy.
Elias didn't get scared easily, but right now he was terrified. Terrified of never being able to move on his own accord again, terrified the others would come looking for him. Terrified of hurting either of them.
Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew this was all a dream, this had already happened, but his thoughts were stuck in a panicked frenzy.
He prayed that Aza and Xavier stayed exactly where they were.
They didn't need him, they could get to the staff without him. Now he knew Cyrus was the one helping the Sky God, he wasn't even sure if he could stop him.
It was pathetic, really.
The sound of hoofs thumping on the ground shook him out of his thoughts and he paled. Vazor smirked, the shadows sharpening his features.
Elias glanced at the necromancer's hand, his wide eyes following Vazor's skilled fingers twirling a knife around. He was wearing a belt with multiple mean looking blades, all glinting menacingly in the moonlight.
He hadn't had a belt just minutes ago, had he? Elias thought, as the hooves, which had now turned into footsteps, moved closer. He hadn't even had weapons, right?
He wanted to scream, to yell at Aza and Xavier to get out of here, but all he could do was stand there. Useless. He was completely useless.
The necromancer raised his hand, making Elias do the same. If he had a heartbeat it would be thumping in his throat.
Two shadows came from behind the rock. Elias wanted to clamp his eyes shut, but even that he couldn't do. The necromancer just waited. Still, as a feline waiting to pounce.
Aza slunk forward first, appearing not to see them. The necromancer twitched his fingers, causing Elias to step in front of the Aza and Xavier. They both jumped, but relaxed when they recognized him. Letting their guard down.
Aza smiled at him, but it faded as she looked a little closer. "Elias?" She asked.
The necromancer snapped his fingers. Elias dropped his hand. The knife flew out from behind the rock, hitting a stunned Aza square in the chest. She gasped, her brown eyes widening. Xavier sprang into action immediately, catching her before she fell to the ground. He was saying things to her, things Elias couldn't understand.
He felt numb. Completely and utterly numb. It was as if he was watching it from the sidelines. He didn't feel present. Xavier was yelling at him, Vazor had made him raise his hand again. The shapeshifter moved in front of Aza, shielding her. Elias' wide eyes met Xavier's terrified ones.
Then his hand fell.

He woke up, gasping for breath. He wanted to scream, but he was so sure the necromancer still had a hold on him. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't breathe-
