Gale watched the news on the television while sipping his steaming cup of coffee. Ever since he drank the Tracker Jacker venom Gale joined the government and came an important part of it, he was the General Caption over the war. At the beginning they talked about Katniss but now they don’t and for that Gale was thankful. He had no idea who that girl was.
“Gale honey, what are you doing?” Gale’s wife Hannelore asks.
“Nothing, just watching the news.” Gale replied then set down his empty cup of coffee. He opened his arms and welcomed his wife who sat down by him snuggling close.
“You know what?” she says.
“What?” he asks.
“When I first met you I didn’t think you would be so great because of your passed and everything but you proved me wrong. For that I am glad because now I can be with you.” Gale knew nothing of this bad passed she talked of but he knew he had one. It must of had Katniss to do with it and the more he heard of her the more he thought of her. People said that she was in the Hungergames and that she was the leader of the rebellion. Gale wanted to look her up but felt something inside tell him not to because all it will lead him is pain. So he never did.
Gale looked down at his wife whose eyes were closed. Gale loved her crystal blue eyes and long blonde hair. he loved how her hair was thick and wavy, he loved her pale flawless skin. He loved her sweet caring personality. He loved her, he could not think of loving anyone else.
Gale felt someone ruffle his hair from behind and he smiled when he heard his son’s voice, “Hey Dad, can I have some coffee?” Gale smiles at his son. Hannelore stands up and shakes her head
“Kavan, you know your father and I don’t like you drinking coffee.” She says.
“No. We both know you don’t like me drinking coffee. Dad does not care.” Hannelore looks at Gale and he just shrugs his shoulders and stood up.
“Han, I am going to refill my coffee and get Kavan something else.” Gale gives her a quick kiss then, with coffee mug in hand left the room with his son trailing behind him.
When Gale got into the kitchen he took a good look at his son. He was sixteen and was tall and very built. He had tan skin and Gale’s gray eyes. His ash blonde hair that barely fell on his forehead belonged to his mother. His strong nose and face was Gale’s but that sweet look in his gray eyes and his playful smile was his mothers.
Gale went over to the coffee maker and placed the mug under it. He pushed the ON button then went over to the fridge and fished out some orange juice. He grabbed a cup and poured some into. Taking a huge gulp he set it on the wooden table.
“Dad that OJ was for me right?” Kavan asked. Gale shook his head pulling the vanilla coffee creamer out of the fridge. When the coffee machine beeped Gale pulled out the coffee pouring in some of the creamer. He then turned and handed it to his son. Kavan had a huge grin on his face.
“For me?” He asks. Gale nodded and Kavan set down the cup and pulled his dad into a hug, “This is why you are my favorite.” Gale chuckled.
“No telling your mom right?” Gale asks.
“Tell her about what?” Kavan asks while picking up the cup and bringing it to his lips. “Aww man this tastes so good,” He says then drank the warm liquid down. Gale laughed and ruffled Kavan’s hair while drinking the orange juice.
“Hey Kavan I have to take some people down to District 12. We are running out of coal and they say the only few people who live there don’t work or even mine. Wanna come with me?” Gale asks his son.
