Personalities:
Tom and Jerry are often at odds because of their clashing personalities. Tom is lazy and rather grumpy most of the time while Jerry is mischevious and energetic.
Even so, they have shown in the past to also have many similarities between them. Both of them are great food lovers, rather cold and distant towards most people and had shown to be rather saidtic and violent in a chase or a outright fight. They have also shown to be able to be compassionate towards their friends, families and people in a tragic situations and both of them have also been distracted by girls.
Their chases are quiet horrific, but they're even more terrifying when they work together. Tom has a fear of ghosts and dogs and is rather quick to anger, while Jerry is much more courageous and tolerant. Although bith of them are qick-witted and quiet manipulative, when they work together Jerry ends up working as the brains fir Tom's brawns because of his much calmer personality.
Most could think of them as foes, however, it was repetadly shown that isn't the case. While they have repetadly made fun of and hurt tge other it was alwais in a rather playful manner and both of them had shown to have guilt and jump in when they put the other in actual danger. There were instances when they were separated and both them were quiet miserable in those circumstances, their lives being quiet bleak without the other. Rather than enemies, they are just very dysfunctional best friends.
Abilities:
Immortality:Both Tom and Jerry are toons and there are no real way to hurt a tune. While they both expressed feeling pain, they have shown repetadly to quickly recover from any form of harm, even the destruction of their entire bodies.
Weapon Mastery:Be it with each other or other people, the cat and mouse have weilded many weapons through their wild chases. Ranging from bats, to swords, to spears, to guns, they have shown to be talented with any sort of weaponary.
Superhuman Intelligence:Despise being just a cat and a mouse, both of them have shown to posses intelligence far above their species and even humans themselves. Being able of human speech aside, they had showcased a wide array od skills. Singing, fighting, piloting, multilingualism. They have even invented high technology weapons and items like time machines and in some instances meet alien species and were abke to communicate with them.
Superhuman Elasticity:Although Tom has showcased this ability more often than Jerry, their bodies are able to contort and expand in ways that shouldn't be possible. From streching their limbs on large distances to evem being contorted into a ball with no actual damage being done with them.
Hammer Space:An ability often meet at toons, both Tom and Jerry are able to take objects from their back, non-existent pockets or even from absolutly nowhere. The objects are often much larger than them and can varry from a simple ball to a rocket launcher.
Fourth Wall Awareness:Tom and Jerry alike are not unaware of their nature. Both of them had cases in which they showed that they were aware they are cartoons and spoke with the audience.
Toon Force:The most well known and reviled ability a toon can posses. This can consist from teleporting, suddenly gaining ungodly amounts of strenght for no apparent reason, their bodies becoming red while smoke come out of their ears and heat produces around them, freez in mid-air while falling, pass through a panting entering it's world while others just hit it, passing by with disguises that should never works, even going against the very laws of physics and logic as they please. The most simple way to describe it is that Tom and Jerry can do litteraly anything so much time the results are funny.
