"Have a nice day." I gave a weak smile to the middle aged lady in front of me.
Working at McDonald's all day everyday is tiring. Especially when you're 15 and pregnant. Yes, I said pregnant. But y'all don't need to know that because it's none of y'all business.
It's currently 10:45 in the afternoon and I'm tired as hell and my freaking feet hurt.
I've literally been here since 5 in the morning since I have nothing else better to do.
And now I'm finally getting off.
I walked to the back and put on my old aero jacket and took off my head set and walked to my bosses office.
"Alright chuck, I'm outta here for the night." I popped my head into his office.
He looked up and took off his glasses. "Hey Reign, I wanted to talk to you about something."
I sat down in front of him, waiting for him to talk. "I wanted to talk to you about a job offer." He started. I nodded for him to continue. "There is this guy who owns this restaurant. He needs an hostess. And I feel as if you've done enough work here and you need to be around a... better environment."
"Well, I don't know. I like it here and plus I don't want to leave you." I frowned. Chuck was like an father to me. Even though he's white. But I appreciate him for what he's done for me. When I first started working here, he found out that I was living on the street and sleeping in the park across form here and he would let me sleep in a guest room at his house.
But one day his wife complained about it and thought he was having an affair with me and she told him to kick me out.
So chuck gave me some money to live in a... decent hotel just a few blocks from here. So that's where I sleep now.
"Trust me, I don't want you to leave either. You're literally the only one who works." He tells me, making me laugh a little. "But you need the extra money to support you and the baby. So I'm gonna have to let you go." He began writing an address down and gave it to me. "You can come and pick up your last check on Monday. Now, go and rest before your interview." He kissed the top of my head.
"Thanks chuck. I really appreciate this." I said feeling myself about to cry. Stupid ass hormones.
"I'd do anything for you and my grand baby." He smiled causing me to smile as well. "Goodnight, go and get some rest."
"Goodnight chuck."

Getting out the shower, I wrapped my telephone around my body and went into the room and turned up the tv.
I took my iPhone 6s that chuck got me a few months back and watched tiktok for about 15 minutes until I finally got dressed in my night clothes and got into bed.
Eventually, I fell asleep. I miss my normal off the wall schedule.
