Gary sat on the bed, slouching and staring at the metallic floor. His eyes were stained red from crying, but even though they were sore, he didn't stop. He couldn't. It hadn't even been 2 hours since the death of Zane. And it hit hard for everyone. They had all known Zane for so long... Gary couldn't help but blame himself. He didn't know why, but he did anyway.

Nothing could be heard. Just his shaky breath. He wiped his eyes, but it was no use. Tears just kept coming and falling. The man flinched when he heard a faint knock on the door.

"Gary? Are you... Alright?"

Was he alright? Of course he wasn't. He watched his friend die. What idiot...

No, you can't take it out on other people Gary. At least you remember something from therapy.

Gary stood up and hesitantly approached the door. He opened it to see Mal, who had also been crying quite a lot. Gary gave a weak wave and smile.

"Hey Mal... I'm, fine. How've you been holding up?" Mal replied with a shrug. "I don't know anymore. One moment he was alive and the next he's..." The man's sentence ended off shaky as he broke into a sob. "H-he can't be gone... R-right? He- He isn't a-actually..."

Gary's eyes narrowed in guilt. He embraced Mal, starting to cry again too.

"I know... I know, Mal. I miss him too..."

Mewdrop watched the men sob. He listened carefully, trying to focus on them specifically. He sat against the vent wall, curled up with his head on his knees. Denial... First stage of grief.

The boy's ears flicked around. All he could hear was grieving, all around. It had become obvious Zane's death hit hard. No shit. He sighed and looked left and right. No sign of Arakne. The boy began crawling left. Where was she? Maybe she was with her dad or someone. Mew stared at the exit to the vents.

"It couldn't hurt. Everyone's in their room crying. It's... It's fine..." He climbed out of the vent and into the corridor. The boy thought of the vents as a different world, and now he was in the real world, where everything hurt and everything was a pain in the ass. He sighed and began walking down the corridor. Maybe if he focused enough, he could hear Arakne. Mewdrop took a deep breath, and began listening around, letting the sounds flood his mind.

... Come on ...

"Biskit, that's mean. Just, leave everyone alone..."

Mew quickly widened his eyes and stared up at his ears. He chuckled and raised his hands in triumph. "Hahah! Yes! This is a start!" Upon realising he was still trying to be secret, he looked around and stayed quiet. The Ventrexian peeked around the corner to see if anyone was there. No one. It was safe. He swiftly walked along the hallway. "C'mon Arakne... Where are you?" Mewdrop started picking up the pace, a risky move.

Avocato wandered the corridors. He knew Mal was with Gary. He knew everyone was heartbroken. He knew that Zane was with... No one. He was dead. And it hurt to think of his death being so... Unexpected. It didn't make sense. It didn't feel real. The man stood still, gazing down the corridor. Just, silence. He kept walking along. Suddenly, the man got startled by the monotone voice of HUE.

"Are you doing alright, Avocato? You seem agitated." The Ventrexian replied with a shrug. "I'm fine... Since when did you become the next therapist?" There was no hesitation to that question. "I'm not a therapist. Mew claims that he's an actual verified therapist, but I think he's lying." Avocato chuckled. That was funny. Until he realised HUE spoke in the present tense. He quickly looked up at the ceiling with a serious expression plastered on his face. "Claims? Is she... Are they, here?" This time there was a slight hesitation in HUE's reply. "No. I don't know what you're talking about. Mew isn't on the ship. He's no where near."

The Ventrexian pulled out his gun and swiftly looked around the corner. "You have no tone in your voice, but you're a very bad liar. Where is Mewdrop?" HUE quickly objected. "I am not. Anyway, Mewdrop isn't going to cause any har-" Avocato questioned more aggressively this time. "HUE, I won't ask you again..."

"Where is Mewdrop?"

The boy let his paws drift against the wall. He hadn't got to fully understand the layout of this ship yet, but this was a good opportunity while he was looking for his friend. Often, when he was focused on finding Arakne's voice, it concentrated on other's cries and words. It made him feel bad. He hadn't seen Zane die, nor get injured. But that was because he was hiding in a cabinet or reuniting with Arakne. Mew sighed. However, his attention was quickly drawn as he heard a gun cock, making his ears rise. What was about to happen? The boy turned a quick corner, making a bad choice. When he looked up, Avocato was standing there, aiming his gun...

Arakne rubbed her dad's back, trying to comfort. "Things'll get better... Hopefully. Ira sniffed, and smiled. "Thanks... Arakne..." The girl smiled back at her dad. "No problem. I'll leave you alone for a bit now." She got up and exited the room, making her way to go back to Mewdrop. It was cut short when a gun shot made her freeze in place.

She turned around and stared. It came from the corner. There was a slight thump heard. The girl looked around the corner. "Is everything cool... In... Here..." Her sentence was cut off when she saw Avocato holding a gun, still pointing at Mew, who was now bleeding. She gasped and rushed over to him.

"Oh my God... Mew? Mew, you're gonna be okay!" He chuckled and stared up at Avocato, gripping the bullet wound in the shoulder. "I'm... I-I'm fine..." Arakne turned around and glared at the adult Ventrexian. "I hope you're happy you dumbass! Mew turned good!" This forced the man to set down his gun. "I thought he was... He..."

"Listen, Mew, I'm gonna get you help. Just hang on!"
