Laney
In the next 35 minutes left of Biology class Laney tried her hardest not to look back at Corey. She could tell he was looking at her. Infact some of the girls noticed too, including her best friend. But it also didn't help that he was literally in the back in the row next her...
"Hey Laney, not to alarm you, but there seems to be a certain someone looking at you," she whispered giddily. Laney wanted to face plant in to her desk.
"I-I know Kim.. but just sit forward...." Laney said back. She was scared to look around at all, a few envious stares were burning into her head. Why me? What did I do wrong? If you want the man then have him! She thought to herself. She was clutching her soft sweatshirt and tried to keep her focus on Mr. Fredrick's lesson.
It was on the study of volcanos. He was telling them the history about it, including tectonic plates, ash clouds, and volcanologists. Laney actually was already ahead and read this chapter but she listened in any, just in case she missed something.
But soon she got bored. So quietly she reached for her sketch book. Opening to a fresh page she thought for a moment. Trees.girl.music.sun.. she all thought in her head. A veiw came to mind. A girl in a white dress, against a tree, with the sun shining, she imaged her with a glow. Slowly she let the pencil work and gracefully moved across the page. But she did keep in mind to be quiet.
Then a loud groan was heard... who...? Oh... it was him... Laney automatically looked back. Except this time he was now having a stare down with Mr. Fredrick. Kim and Laney looked at each other then back at the scene.
"Is there something you'd like to say?" Mr. Fredrick asked, irratated. Corey tilted his head.
"No, it's just your class...."
"Is there something wrong with my teaching Mr. Riffin?" Fredrick asked impatiently. The blue haired boy nodded.
"It's boring as hell..." he simply answered. That earned a few snickers and laughs. But Mr. Fredrick, however, did not find it humorous. The teacher's face flushed with anger. Then glared at Corey.
Laney looked at him with shock for a second before shaking her head and then turning back to her picture. She just got the tree done... and now she was outlining and shaping the girl.
Even though she turned her attention to drawing she still listened in on the conversation.
"Riffin, I've had enough with this behavior. Come up here at once, grab a pass, and head to the principal office. Now," Mr. Fredrick tried to say calmly. But his voice came out aggressive and shakily. Laney pursed her lips to and listened intently.
"Alright then," Corey said happily. Mr. Fredrick didn't comment. She heard him shuffling and getting up out of his desk. And Laney didn't look up as she felt his presence grow near. Then his footsteps stopped. What? Her lighting was also gone. What? She peeked up slowly to see him. Staring down. At her... then his eyes landed on her drawing. He smiled, perfectly and Laney's heart sped quickly... okay what? "Cool picture, Red," he said to her. She froze. He... liked it? Several other heads craned their necks to see her drawing and nodded.
"Today Riffin!" Gruffled Mr. Fredrick. Laney quickly looked down... she managed to mumble a thank you. He shrugged but smiled as he walked on by. She looked up a little and watched him go. He received the pass and started towards the door. Mr. Fredrick sighed and started working on the lesson again. Everyone continued to work and such but Laney still looked at him.
Then he looked back one more time. Again he looked at her and she looked at him. But she looked at him with curiosity. He looked at her with interest. Then just up and left.
For some reason she felt disappointed. But shook the feeling.Lunch
"Well that was intense... haven't seen Mr. Fredrick that angry since Clayton spilled Monster all over his computer..." Kim said nibbling on a baby carrot. Laney nodded distantly. Her thoughts still lingering on his dazzling smile. Kim looked at her skeptically. "Lanes are you listening?" She asked. Laney nodded automatically again. Kim frowned at her. "Okay.... well just wanted to let you know, I brutally murdered someone, stole a car, and finally had the guts to asked Kin Kujira out.. " she said directly to Laney. But all the red head did was draw and nod aimlessly.
Laney thought of the blue haired boy.... who exactly was he? She knew his name, his band, and the members; but nothing mainly about him. He seemed like a troubled maker though. After a few minutes she decided to shake the feeling way.
"Okay what about brutally murdering Kin's car?" Laney asked looking with a smile. Kim face palmed.
Sorry this is short... and that I didn't update.... but now you know she likes drawimg! Like me! I also tried a diffrent style in writing by putting spaces between the paragrapghs. Tell me if I should continue the spaces or go back to the other style. Thanks for reading! :)
