Monday Morning, Kim...
Kim walked through the halls with her head down. She tried not to think about Saturday, but each time the scene became more vivid.
What was she thinking? You weren't.. she spat at herself. Why would you even consider suicide? Kim was screaming in the inside..
Then a bitter feeling came over her as she heard Konnie's laughter with her friends. Quickly she ducked in the bathroom to avoid them. Thats when the bell rang. Now she heard the fast chatter and the shuffling of students trying to get to their first classes, but she still didn't come out. Laney would be alone 1st period... and would be questioning her at lunch.
For some reason, Kim didn't care.. but she was shaky. She had been like that for the rest of the weekend as well, and she kept to herself in her room. With the door locked and ignoring everyone, she cried.. all for the rest of the weekend.
She was planning to skip school, but her father threatened to take off her door for a month. Knowing he'd actually do so; she reluctantly got up, dressed, ate her breakfast quickly, and walked to school before Konnie was even done in the bathroom..and without Laney..
Kim felt like crying again... what would she say? Could she say anything? The two never kept anything from one another.. but this... this was completely different.
Well this and... freshman year..
"Oh god.." she whispered, her voice shaking... she pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged her legs with her head down. A horrible feeling of guilt and fear went through her. Her father would be over the top completely furious and disown her, her mom would just cry and probably not even talk to her anymore, and Konnie... well Konnie would laugh and laugh and laugh...
The horrifying turns outs played in repeat in her head. Kim was slowly rocking back and forth, and biting her lip to keep her from crying out loud.
She sat there for almost 15 minutes, debating whether or not to go to class. Was she seriously going to skip class for the first time? Well it didn't bother her as much as she thought it would.
"Jeez.. maybe I should just go the the nurses office, I can talk to nurse Joy.. I think..." she pondered on the suggestion. Who do to usually talk to when you're being suicidal? She couldn't remember, too many thoughts ran through her head. Sighing, she decided just to go to the nurse.. maybe she could talk.. she needed to.. she felt so alone on this.
The only other person that was aware of her attempt was Kin. The boy she had been totally crazy for, forever and would do anything to be by his side. But now she would do anything to hide from him, and to run away. Kim was so ashamed.
The same night after she awoke from her pass out, Kin was waiting by her side. They were in an empty lounge room and she could remember hearing the classical music on the other side of the door.
She looked at Kin to see that he was close to her face as he rested his head on the couch. The rest of him was on sitting on a cushion chair. Kim blushed to see the boy that had fallen asleep next to her couch side. But instead of waking him up, crying in to him, and talking about her life to him; she fled quietly and quickly, leaving him a note of thanks and such.
Kim hadn't seen him since, and she planned to keep it that way for a while. At least long enough to come up with an excuse.
Slowly she lifted herself from the bathroom floor, and opened the bathroom stall she was in. Kim shouldered her bag and peeked out, to see if anyone was in the direction of the hallway to the nurses office.
"Whew.." she breathed and came out and started to walk to the nurses.
"And where do you think your going?" A voice from behind her, asked. She jumped and whipped around to see who it was.
Laney...
Gosh, where was Kim when Laney needed her? The one time she actually want to talk about boy problems, Kim had vanished.
Laney had went to Kim's house to walk with her, but her mom said she had left early for something... Kim had already left without her... why?
She face planted in to the desk, wanting to talk about her problems to her best friend... she almost kissed the bad boy band leader who has a girlfriend.. gah!!! She screamed inside her head and Kim couldn't be there calm her down.
She didn't look up when she heard Corey come in, she just froze. This was bad.. what would happen if Carrie ever found out? She would murder Laney.. and what about Corey? Would he just laugh it off.. did he tell Carrie? No.. the boy could be oblivious at times, but he wasn't that stupid...
Laney noticed his voice laughing and talking to another classmate, but never lifted her head. Corey paused for a moment and it was near Laney. She could feel his presence and the smell his cologne. Her heart fluttered, and sped up. She felt her face warm between her arms, and her eyes stared at the desk as she bit her lip. Then a small whoosh of air passed her and she realized he was gone. Well.. I guess I deserved that... she thought biting back the feeling in the back of her throat.. Laney didn't want to feel hurt.. but she guess she was..
She remembered how she had left him, not wanting his help or to look him on the eye. It made her feel horrible, but she was so.. embarrassed? Ashamed? Scared? Honestly, Laney didn't know what she was feeling. She just wanted to go home or crawl in a hole.. The hole would be better.
Finally the bell rang. Slowly Laney lifted her head. She fought the urge to look back.
"Good morning class," Mr. Fredrick greeted with a huff. He was a stiff as usual. Laney kept her gaze at him and listened to his announcements. "As you all know, we will be having a test today, and I know it's Monday, but this is half of your grade for this semester.." he trailed on, grabbing a stack of papers from his desk. Laney's breath hitched... the test.. she helped Corey study for...
"I hope you do okay, Riffin.." she whispered to herself. Mr. Fredrick gave everyone papers to pass back. Laney automatically took them and turned to give them to the person behind her and then.. their gaze matched one another. Her heart dropped as his deep blue eyes stared right back at her big green ones.
Then just like that his eyes were gone as he looked down at his test.. he was angry.. Laney whipped her head back to her paper. The lump grew in the back of her throat and a strong feeling if guilt built up in her chest. She also wanted to cry.
But all she did was bite her lip and looked down. Her fist clenched her hair and tears silently fell from her as she tried her hardest to work on her test.
Larry...
Larry tapped his pencil on his art work and stared at the window... His thoughts were on the red headed girl from Saturday. He couldn't really stop thinking about her...
Laney Penn huh? He thought, continuing to stare, ignoring his work.
"Mr. Nepp? Can you please pay attention and continue with your assignment?" The art teacher asked, sternly. Larry gave her a look and shook his head then continued this his drawing. It was suppose to be a memory drawing today.. originally he had planned to draw his bass leaning against a wooden crate, but instead a box of Chinese food and broken chopsticks beside it...
Hey everyone I'm sorry this one's super short, but I plan to have the next one up soonish? If not well.. sorry.. you know me... hehehe..
