Biana's POV

I stared at Tam. He nodded and swallowed. We were outside of Kelly's mansion, at yet another party we'd been invited to. I smiled at him.

He pulled open the door, and we walked inside.

The blaring music and flashing lights were all too familiar, and I grimaced as a million memories pounded through my brain - one in particular.

"BIANA!" Kelly cried, bolting through the crowd. She was obviously quite drunk. "There you arrrre, bestie!" She slurred. "I missed you soooo much!"

I glared at her and shoved her off my arms. "I need to ask you a question, Kelly." I said, trying to maintain my cool.

"Ask away." Kelly mumbled as she downed another shot.

"Why did you try to ruin my life?" I asked bluntly.

This seemed to snap Kelly out of her drunken state. She stared at me. "Because I was jealous." She whispered. "I liked Keefe and I wanted to be popular and I knew I could never defeat you outright, so I played dirty."

My mouth dropped open. "You like Keefe?" I asked quietly. "When did it start?"

"We were in the same preschool class. I've liked him since I was 3." Kelly mumbled. "And I really thought I was getting close... and then he asked you out. I was furious, and I thought I deserved more, and I just... snapped." She said softly. "I'm sorry, Biana. I really am."

I wanted to yell at her, or say something rude, but I didn't. "It's okay, Kelly." Any other time I said that, I might've been lying, but this was true.

Staring into Tam's silvery eyes, I felt my anger melt away, and I smiled at her. "I was so angry then, but... it's okay now." I whispered to her.

Kelly stared at me. I gently removed her arms, and then grabbed Tam's hand and walked out.

"Leaving so soon?" He asked sarcastically. But in a really sweet way.

"Let's go. This place blows." I said with a smile.

Tam kissed my cheek, and just before we left, I spun out of his grasp. "Wait, one more thing." I said quickly, and ducked into the next room. It took me a couple minutes, but then I found what I was looking for.

Keefe was in the middle of the living room, flirting with Sophie, who remained completely oblivious. It was obvious Sophie hadn't had much to drink, while Keefe was completely drunk. Sophie smiled sweetly at me, then strolled away.

"Hey, Keefe." I said quietly.

Keefe stared at me. "Since when are you talking to me?"

"Since now. I realized that... we weren't destined to be together. And I was clingy, and the relationship was bad for me, and everything was falling apart, but I was so determined to be perfect that I didn't care. And if life taught me anything, it's that only focusing on what's behind me makes me miss out on everything that's happening." I was surprised to hear such poetic words coming out of my mouth, but I didn't care.

I strolled away, feeling weightless for the first time in a while. Tam smiled at me as I came back. "What was the errand about?" He asked.

"Oh, nothing." I said cheerfully. "Let's go get dinner."

Tam grinned, and we hopped into his car (oh, he had a car) and drove into the night.
