Daemons pov
My niece has always held a piece of me. It's not uncommon for family of our house to wed one another. I ask "you found and rode Vhagar and she had an egg, the dragon you have now? And you became a faceless woman? Niece you truly are extraordinary. You never told me of this in our letters"

I kept in contact with her. The rest of them turned their backs. My brother is an idiot and a shit father. An incompetent king as well. If I have it my way, my niece will be queen of the seven kingdoms. Whether it's because viserys names Delaerys as his heir and we wed or he names me officially and we wed. She chuckles "you'd have rode Caraxes to where I was and forbid me from it" "only because I want you safe. When you left I told you to stay safe and try and have fun while on your travels. Not you become a faceless man and worship the god of death and be an assassin" I tell her. She chuckles "I am fine I assure you uncle. I only took jobs I know I could do." I grasp her chin making her look at me "you have a scar" caressing her eyebrow. She replies "everyone has scars Daemon" she shouldn't. She's a princess born to be a queen. She should've been here or at dragon stone where it's safe for her. Not forced away and shunned to do whatever it took to survive. I curse my brother and his actions. "You shouldn't" I tell her hating the sight. She tells me "I'm a warrior Daemon. It's who I am and that comes with scars"

I smile her way "come" standing and she does and I lead us to the training grounds and she unsheathes her sword. Valyrian steel. I gifted it to her a bit before she left. I chuckle "show me what you got" we go back and forth striking and blocking and it gains attention. Viserys watches us and i tell her "show him who and what you are Delaerys" striking and she flips out the way shocking me. I've never seen anything quite like it. We get more and more competitive throughout and I git the sword from her hand and I say "got-" and I'm shocked by her even more. She tugs me closer by the sword and yanks the dagger from my belt and I say circling her "pick up the sword." She tells me a look in her eye I've never seen "I don't need it" I nod and we fight more. She rolls and grabs her sword and fights me with both blades. I haven't had a fight this good in a long time.

She knocks my sword from my hand and I kick her down and she flips rotating and she gets up on her knees both blades ready. I get my sword and we fight more and she does away with the dagger and points the sword at my neck. I chuckle "you've been taught well" I'm not surprised. The faceless men are not to be played with. We continue and she trips me and I do the same her on top of me straddling me. She holds the sword to my neck "I win again." I smile "so it seems you have my queen" she stands and offers me a hand up as viserys claps "well done Delaerys! I can't remember a time that daemon actually lost in a spar before" she nods. I praise her "you did great." And she did.

She sends me a smile. She makes me weak. In all the best ways. Always has. Viserys asks her "where did you learn how to fight like that?" "Braavos" she replies. Not sure how to respond to him. He's her father and he rid of her because of her wild spirit. He rid of her because he couldn't produce a heir. Still can't. He had rhaenyra and treats her how Delaerys should've always been treated. Whispers say she's more dragon than woman. Just like Visenya was. And I'm proud to see that it's true. Fire lights in her eyes when she's angry. She's got a tongue sharper than any blade. Her and Maegor must be very alike I take it.

"What were you doing there?" He asks and she shrugs "well since you've made it clear I have no place here and never will because you couldn't deal with the fact that I'm a woman and not soft like everyone else and you shunned me....I've done nothing but take my freedom from you and explore and do as I pleased" he says "who taught you how to fight" she replies "no one" I chuckle and she asks "what do you want viserys" "firstly we need to talk about the large dragon that's got an anger issue. He's-" she cuts him off "mine. His name is Maegor. He's not used to being with other dragons he'll need yo adjust is all" he continues "the keepers fear him. He's cruel" she smiles "just like his namesake" "the only dragon he's nice to is Caraxes" he replies and I chuckle at that. Of course the two feared dragons band together. "Your dragons presence is a surprise. I didn't give you an egg at birth" he notes. She says "because you didn't think I deserved one. I'm a targaryen just like the others and yet you deny me of my right to a dragon but gave one to Rhaenrya." Viserys hurt her. A lot. All she's wanted was her father to love and accept her and her mother to be allowed to be a mother to her for longer than a few minutes in passing. There's this dark prophecy about her. That she'll be the doom of Westeros like that meteor was the doom of Valyria. I think it's a load of shit. But he doesn't. Because of that stupid saying. Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land. And the prophecy says she's going to be mad. I don't believe it but he does. It's why he did what he did and treated her how he did.

"Where did Maegor come from?" He asks and she replies "vhagar. Had a run in and spent time with her and she had an egg with her" she adds "he's mine and always will be. I don't need you to gift me my right to a dragon. I got it on my own" he nods "we need to go over things you need to know about being the heir" he chose her. She gives me a look and I nod to her letting her know I'm not mad at her for his decision. She was asked to leave the place she was calling home to come here and is just being told that she's going to be queen. It's just being thrown at her. I'll be there the whole way. If the lords value their lives they'll accept her with a smile and kind words, nothing less.
