I wish I could protect Fundy more

I watch the lava flow down. Fundy is in Las Navadas. Fundy could be hurt. Fundy isn't safe. I have to protect Fundy. Fundy can't be hurt. He's all I have left.
"You still love him, huh," Sam says. I can't tell what he is getting at. I don't know how to respond. Yes I do love Fundy but if I tell Sam that then he might hurt Fundy. Or he might hurt Fundy because he wants me to prove I don't care. Such choices.....
"Yes," I finally respond. I don't know what I'm thinking. I'm not thinking. I close my eyes. The warmth of the lava is oddly refreshing. I feel a potion get splashed on me. I open my eyes. It's fire resistance.
"Oops," Sam says sarcastically. I laugh a bit. It's the first time in a long while that I've laughed and joked around with Sam. I follow him through the lava. As we walk to his office, I feel the refreshing cold hit me. It's nice to feel cold rather the hot for once. I don't know what Sam is doing but anything is better than the prison cell. Even death, whatever he's going to do is better than being in the prison cell. We arrive in his office after walking for awhile.
"Fundy is banned from Las Nevadas?" Sam says concerned.
"What?!" I say happily but also confused.
"Quackity banned him because..... because he still loves you," Sam tells me. He stutters it out a bit. I don't know how to respond. Here I was thinking I f*cked up but I guess I didn't. We stay in silence for a bit.
"Dream, you're probably wondering why I brought you here. The truth is... I don't want you to stay here. You still deserve it. But I know you love Fundy. If you really have nothing but him and Wilbur left to live for. Then I can't keep you in that cell. You might just kill yourself. Fundy is going to be your guard. If you step out of line, Fundy will pay for it. He's your warden now. I'm calling him here," Sam speaks up after a bit. I don't know what to say. I don't know even how to feel.
"Thank you!!" I say. I hug Sam. Then realize what I did and back away. I got a little too excited there.
"Remember though, you step out of line and Fundy gets it"
I'm back and not dead! School has been a hassle so updates are going to be not so regular. Fun fact of today: Cats don't have a collar bone!
