Chapter 24*

~Alex's POV~

On the way to Diana's family house, I kept on thinking about how things would be from now on, I didn't know what to expect but I kept hoping it would all turn out great.

I had my face to the window since we moved, a lot was on my mind.

“Alexandria, we're finally here sweetie.” Mrs Kingsley said to me

“Oh, We are.” I simply said and gave a small smile.

They came down from the car, and I did the same.

I had my backpack with me. It was pretty light since I didn't have many belongings.

“Let me have that.” Mr Kingsley said as he set his hand out for my bag.

“Oh no no that's fine. I can carry it. It's not heavy.” I declined politely

“Oh is that so, anyway I still insist. Let me carry it for you.” He was persistent so I had to give in.

“Well ok then. Thank you so much. I'm grateful.” I said as I passed the backpack to him.

“Come on. Let's go inside.” Mrs Kingsley said and guided me inside with her hand placed gently on my back.

Once we got inside the house, Diana quickly stood up from where she was sitting with all the other people that were working for them.

“Alex! You're finally here. Welcome to our house, and I hope we can live as one family.” She said to me as she came close and she gave me a small hug.

“Thank you so much, Diana. It means a lot to me.” I said to her with a big smile on my face.

“That is very lovely Diana. Um Alexandria, all these people here are our staffs here in the house. Later on, I'm sure Diana will introduce you properly to them. Everyone, this is Alexandria. My daughter. You are to treat her with respect, just as you treat me. And please make sure she's very comfortable in every way. Thank you all.”

“Ok, Mom. Now you're done with the speech can I show Alex her room now?” Diana said to her mom.

“Of course. Welcome to the family Alex.” Mrs Kingsley said to me.

“Thank you so much. ” I replied then Diana dragged me with her.

“So I'm gonna show you your room now, come on.” she held my hand as we made our way further inside the house.

After climbing up the stairs and walking for some time we finally stopped at a door.

“Ready? ” Diana turned to ask me and I nodded.

“Tada!” she said immediately as she opened the door to what was supposedly my room.

“Wow. This is...I don't even know the word to describe it....it's so big and I've never seen such a beautiful room before!” I managed to get it out.

“Really! Aww, I'm glad you like it. I was sceptical at first about the design but from your reaction, I think I did a good job.” Diana said sounding proud of herself.

“Wait you did this? Wow, it's amazing. You have no idea.” I said still admiring my new room.

“Hmm. It is. You should probably freshen up. I got you a few things. You know, some essential things you might need. But don't worry, we'll be going shopping for you to get the things you like.”
