III: Present

{Part I of II}

{a/n: I'm so frustrated! I think I deleted this part of the story while I finished the part II! Argh! I hope I can still remember what happened here and I'll double check what am I clicking next time}

".... And they live happily ever after." Jimin's dad finished the second favorite story of his beloved son, who's now lying at the hospital bed... His only son Jimin is currently battling for his life as he was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer... "What story do you like more, Min? The first one? Or the happy ending Titanic?" The older tried to sound happy although he was in deep pain inside.

"I like it both appa... Thank you..." Jimin weakly smiled.

"I like it both too, son... It's like my little boy travels from different era, yet here he is, being the most lovely and kind son for me..." He replied, hiding all of his sorrow.

"Appa?"

Mr. Park put the books away as he held his son's pale and bony hand. "Yes son? Are you tired? Wanna get some rest?"

Jimin only nods and smile weakly. "I'm kinda tired now appa... But I don't wanna close my eyes yet, cause I'm afraid that if I do, I won't be able to thank you for being a great dad to me, and apologize to Jungkook for not being able to be with him forever..." He started tearing up.  "I can't sleep yet, cause I still need to make sure that Jungkook will be happy even if I'm not here anymore..."

Mr. Park held his son's hand a little tighter as he was too afraid to let him go... It is more than painful to see your own child die while you can't do anything but to cry... Jimin never wanted to see his dad cry, yet here he is, pouring all his frustrations and pain in front of him...
"Son? You don't have to worry about me... I'm your appa remember? I know how much you care for me and Jungkook... But son, you have to think of yourself too... You're sick and you need to rest... Everything will be fine little one, I promise..."

"W-will you take care of Jungkookie in my behalf, appa?"

"You know I always do..." The older man reply. "He's like a real son to me..."

Jimin nods, feeling contented with his father's words... Even if he leave the world today, his appa will take care of Jungkook like his own son...
"I can finally rest now..."

Jungkook is feeling ecstatic, as he was planning to propose to his beloved boyfriend today...
Thanks to his Hobi-hyung's encouragement, he is more than sure that today is the day for him to ask Mr. Park's blessing for his and Jimin's engagement... His parents were beyond happy when they heard the news that their child is ready to settle down, and Jimin is the lucky guy... His father even promised him that they would visit Jimin in the hospital, as they wanted to welcome him in advance to their family...

"I guess I should call hyung to come with me... I know how much he misses Min..." Jungkook uttered while staring at the mirror with several clothes in hand.

He is too busy with his plan that he didn't realize the multiple messages from his phone coming from his "soon-to-be" father-in-law... Hopefully it wasn't bad...

Or at least that's what anyone wish for, right?

"I can't wait to ask Min to spend forever with me..."
