Over a week later, Arabella hadn't heard from Klaus, but it's not like she called him at all. She wasn't exactly waiting for his call either, she had a new focus, one that was hopefully away from Klaus.

Arabella's focused strayed away from Mystic Falls, it surprisingly led her back to Chicago.

Well, her focus wasn't entirely away from Klaus, she was distantly away from him, but mentally right next to him.

So, she stayed in Chicago, in a certain old dorm room she had seen way too many times in the 20s.

As for the Salvatores, Caroline, Elena, and even Bonnie, they were dealing with Alaric/Klaus.

Oblivious is what they were if it was summed into one word. Klaus was selling his act of being Alaric for a few days and quickly was tired of it, he gained the information he needed and it was now almost time for him to make a move.

He had a werewolf, vampire, and if his plan goes as planned, he'll have himself a doppelgänger, maybe even 2 for some extra fun.

Arabella knew none of the above, she didn't know the two girls that had quickly became her closest friends would be in danger, nor did she know the girl she swore to never hurt would be in danger, maybe she was the oblivious one after all.

Then again, maybe they were all oblivious because there's one thing that not a single one of them knew, not Arabella, not Klaus, not Stefan, no one.

Elijah was back and also after a certain human doppelgänger.

They knew someone was after Elena, but none of them had any clue who, at least no one did until Elena paid a unexpected visit to Rose, who lost a loved one in the process of gaining herself her own freedom.

Another few days later, Arabella still had no calls from Klaus, but she did have a few urgent-sounding calls from Stefan and surprisingly, Damon.

Yes, she wanted to get away from Mystic Falls, but she always fell for the pity calls, so the next morning she arrived at the Salvatores house.

Arabella knocked on the door and was immediately let in by both of the brothers, who looked ready to head somewhere, maybe a casual drink at the grill going off of their outfits, "Please don't tell me you called me from 4 states away just to go have a nice little dinner." Arabella sighed and crossed her arms.

"Well maybe we were planning on drunken-ing you up before letting you in on the most recent gossip." Damon sarcastically replied, which made Stefan roll his eyes.

"I like hearing the 'gossip' sober, so, let me in." She widened her eyes as a sign for them to tell her everything, and they quickly walked her inside and told her everything, even things that wouldn't be relevant, things that confused her, "Clearly there's a reason you're both filling me in, what do I need to do? Act like a big and bad scary vampire that will kill her if she doesn't obey?"

"She's in the tomb and she can't get out, so you don't need to act scary, she's just more likely to tell you more than she will us." Stefan spoke in a different tone than usual, she squinted her eyes at how odd Stefan was being.

"Okay." Arabella listened to the rest of their ranting until they finally decided to leave the house.

They all walked to the tomb and Arabella and Stefan opened the tomb door.

"Please, come in, there's plenty of room for all of us." Katherines raspy voiced echoed in the tomb.

Arabella cringed at the subtle brother-compliment thing Katherine did, Katherine clearly didn't notice Arabella who was standing off to the side.
