**10K has been hit!!! Yeah!!!**
Crack.
You sprung awake with your last memory of going to sleep the night before. Your hair was sticking to the back of your neck with sweat, and every inch of your body was covered with it. You were shaking like mad, but didn't know why. You looked toward where you heard the sound from, and you saw pavement less than a few feet away from you, yet you weren't touching it. Suddenly you realized two things: the first being that Leo's iPod was on the pavement, cracked and broken into millions of glass shards. You instantly felt terrible, but didn't want to cry in front of Jason, who had caught you safety by using his power of the winds. You held onto Jason very tightly in fear of ending up like the iPod.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. I got you. I'm not gonna let you fall, alright?" Jason's voice soothed you, and you began to tear up a little.
"What-what happened?" you chocked out. He took a deep breath, but his reply was little.
"How about we get you and the iPod back up to Leo and we'll explain it up there, alright?" he said. You nodded, not really convincing him that you truly were okay because your eyes wouldn't leave the iPod.
"Hey, he can fix it. If anyone can, Leo can."
"Yeah, but that was almost me."
"But it wasn't, was it?" He summoned the bit of the iPod, and flew back up to the dragon that was hovering in midair. Leo gave you the meanest look you had ever seen him give anyone when he spoke to you, which made you feel rally nervous. He pointed a finger accusingly at you while Percy tried to stop Annabeth's shaking.
"Don't you ever," Leo began with a menacing tone, pure fury in his words and his brown eyes like black holes of endless pain,"scare me like that again." He ran a shaky hand through his hair while he closed his eyes and took a deep breath to relax before embracing you and surprising you.
"I love you, and if anything every happened to you, I would never, ever be able to forgive myself, you hear me?" he whispered into your ear. You nodded as tears streamed down your face and onto his bare shoulders-since you still had his flannel on-while you hugged him back.
The group managed to calm down after some hugging and drying of yours and Annabeth's tears, and they managed to explain what happened to you in a calm manner.
"Okay, so, remember those espresso?" Leo asked, lacing his fingers in yours to calm you (or was it to make sure you wouldn't fall again?) You nodded calmly.
"The venti," you said. Leo nodded.
"Well, one decided that you were a vermin of the sky, and that you needed to be rid of. So, it shoved you out of the carrier, and you...fell."
Silence.
"But why is it only me?" you asked softly. "I mean, Percy's a sea kid, shouldn't he be a more likely target?"
"That's what we thought, too." Annabeth stated, her eyes lost deep in thought while she stared at on of the mussed blankets on the carrier. "Until it told us its reasoning."
"Reasoning?" you questioned.
"Yeah, it claimed that you would mess everything up if you lived, and that your kind isn't welcomed in the sky," Percy stated.
"My kind? But aren't I a demigod just like the rest of you?"
"That is one question I don't know the answer to," Annabeth said, deeply distraught.
"You know, personally, I think that stupid Ventus needed to reevaluate who it was talking to, and maybe try and throw itself out of the sky for once. I mean, it would have saved Leo and I the time. We made a steam screen to get it to go away, and it worked pretty well," Percy said with confidence in his own words.
"You know," Jason said, with a hand in his jean pocket."We should probably stop, freshen up, and talk to Chiron. We all know he'd want to hear about this." Everyone looked around at each other, including you. Annabeth gave the final decision.
"That sounds like a good idea. Maybe he could shed some light on something," she said, with a nod in your way. This quest was panning out to be a little more than you bargained for.
