The nightmare started out as a dream. You saw a little girl with slightly tanned skin and long, beautiful hair that flowed behind her. She kind of looked like you, but also someone else that you knew very well at this point.
She was your's and Leo's child. She was playing with dolls on the floor when an older, more sophisticated version of Leo walked in and smiled warmly at her. The scene was enough to melt your heart. He joyfully sat next to her, and picked up one of the dolls are started to play with her. Suddenly, another person appeared on the scene, but it wasn't you.
A beautiful woman stood in the doorway, with her cinnamon hair that gently curled into a braid, her warm eyes, and her encouraging smile. She was definitely not you. That's when you looked back at the child to see a totally different girl, but the same Leo. She looked more like the woman in the door now, and you wondered who the woman could be. That's when it hit you like a sucker punch to the face-the woman in the door was in fact not a woman at all, but a goddess.
You tried to change the scene, but it wouldn't work. She walked in, looked straight at you and smirked, and then kissed him right in front of your face.
And he didn't make a move to reject her.
See this? This is what will eventually happen. Whether it's years from now or years after your death, it will happen. This, dear child, in inevitable, said that same voice from before.
No, you said, shaking. You must be wrong. He wouldn't do that to me.
Ah, but child, how do you know? You'll be dead! There's no way you can come back...unless... The voice trailed off pleasingly, and you could hear an evil smirk in its voice.
Unless what? you begged. If there was any hope. Any at all...
The di Angelo boy. He could be useful. All you have to do is die, and he can bring you back until...indefinitely.
You're wrong. He wouldn't do that even if I asked.
How do you know? You've never asked him.
It wouldn't work. You have a hidden loophole, don't you?
Do I?
Yes, you do. No one just randomly gives someone relationship advice after they try to break them up. You're trying to kill me indefinitely. Don't lie, I know for a fact that's what you're doing.
The voice cackled and responded, Clever girl, but not clever enough, for you still not know who I am, do you?
That's when it clicked all at once.
You knew who you had to go see.
You knew who was behind it all-the breakup, the prevention, this-everything.
But just where could you find them?
No, I don't. But what does that matter? you lied, trying to catch the voice off guard. It worked, because you heard another cackle.
You shall see soon enough, dear. Oh you shall see.
