Chapter 14

"I'm sorry..."

Hinata was terrified. The man standing in front of her, her husband, her first love, the boy she had loved more than anything else since she was a child, had just hit her, giving her a look full of disappointment and hatred. "No... that's not..." she was afraid to speak, but had to, she had to explain it to him. She didn't want to offend him, she didn't mean children, she would never call them that! "I didn't mean the kids!" she screamed in despair, she had enough, she was tired of playing a double game.

"Naruto, our children is one of the greatest things that happened to me after Neji's death. They are everything I've always wanted. " she said, falling to her knees, unable to look him in the face, suppressed too many emotions, finally there was a moment when she could let them out. "Kawaki is another of my children, please believe, I would never call any of them a mistake! I know how much you love your children, whether mine or Sasuke, you do your best, but I can't! I can no longer pretend that everything is fine." From beautiful violet eyes poured a river of salty tears, tears held for a long time.

The blonde looked at the woman, his eyes turned blue again. He understood her, the children weren't a mistake, they couldn't blame them for anything, they were to blame for themselves. "Hinata... please get up." He said, giving the woman a hand. She grabbed his hand and stood up, the blonde hugged her. "I know, I got carried away, forgive me." he said, hugging the woman who was still shedding tears tighter. Suddenly, they both felt someone hugging them, looked down and saw their daughter, their sun, which was flooded with tears.

"It's my fault." she said, shedding tears, Hinata moved away from the blonde who knelt and wiped the tears from the face of their daughter, their sun. "Hima-chan, it's not your or your brothers' fault. We just... "he didn't know how to put it into words, he never thought his decisions would lead to something like that, that his kids would have to go through this. "Me and your daddy need time, we need to think it over." The woman tried to help her husband and turned to her daughter with a smile. "It will be better if you spend this time with your grandfather."

"I'd rather stay with Lord Seventh.'' They both looked towards the entrance to the lounge, where the eldest, Kawaki, emerged from behind the door frame. The truth was, Kawaki didn't feel like he suited this family, yes he was grateful to Hinata and Naruto for what they did for him, however, if he had to choose, no matter what, he would choose Naruto. The blonde smiled at the boy's words, after a while Boruto came out from around the corner, slightly surprising his parents. "I... I prefer to stay with father too."

"Me too!" Himawari screamed, throwing herself into the arms of her father. Hinata was surprised, it hurt her that they preferred their father, but she couldn't be angry about it. They had never spent too much time with him, if that was their choice, and she had no intention of compelling them. After all, they would have gone with him with confidence, they had a right to do so. "I understand, maybe it will be better this way."

Less than an hour later, despite the late hour, all four were ready to go. They stood in the hall, still checking to see if they had taken everything they needed for the next few days before the adults made their final decision. The blond turned and saw a violet-haired woman with a sad smile. She no longer wore a dress, only green knee-length shorts and a long light pink sweatshirt and a patch on her face. "Naruto, can we talk a little longer?"

They were left alone, before leaving the blonde instructed the children what to do and where to wait for him. The house was empty, filled with silence. "I think we both know how this ends." the woman said, smiling at her husband. "And I know it's better for both of us." she lowered her head, unable to meet the man's eyes. She was pathetic, all her life she swore that she loved the blonde immensely, it turned out to be deceptive. When the blonde worked hard for the village, she, unable to cope with the loneliness, got carried away and betrayed him. However, the feeling of guilt was not as great as she thought, the blonde didn't have the same feeling for her as for her predecessor.

"You can call me a hypocrite, but there was a time when I thought you were the best thing that happened to me in my life." the blonde's words touched the woman, she never thought that the blonde could think of her like that. From the beginning of their relationship, she was convinced that she was only a replacement, a tool to make the blonde forget about his lover. "Naruto-"

"But now I see," he interrupted with a smile, smiling all the time, which often worried her, but she never did anything about it, why? She didn't know herself. "I have no luck in love." he said, turning his back to her, "Maybe I'm just not made for this." he said mockingly at himself. She didn't speak, she had no idea whether she should. "As you said,we have to think everything through, although the ending is predictable in advance." after these words he left, not letting Hinata come to the word.

After closing the door, the woman collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down from her eyes again. "Sorry..." she whispered softly, pulling her legs up to the chest and resting her head on her lap. "You were a good husband despite the lack of time. You just love the wrong people. "

At that time, three children were waiting at the gate for their father. "I hope they will clear it all up." The blonde said he didn't want to see his parents unhappy, but he didn't want them to part ways either. "Let's be realistic, you can tell right away how it will end." He may not have been the best at comforting, but he wasn't going to blame it, Kawaki, like the other two, realized there was nothing to fix here.

"Enough of these sorrows!" They heard the joyful voice of the blonde who was heading towards them. Himawari immediately ran to her father, just a haircut so as not to fall over. "Oh my, you must be exhausted, princess." he said, taking the girl in his arms. "Then, as soon as we get there, we all go to sleep right away." there was a smile on his face, a warm smile. He was happy that he could finally go home in peace to his sons. He was happy that everyone finally got to know each other. And of course, he was exhausted by all these emotions. And so regardless of what time it was or the fact that none of the three children except Boruto knew where they were going, they moved forward.
