Faded. Lying on my bed, staring up at the ceiling of my room. Everything feels like it's spinning in circles. I'm stressed over moving and leaving my home. Ever since my big brother died, my parents and I haven't exactly been the same. He died last year from drowning at the beach. I tried to save him but the ocean's current was too strong. That's how I got scars all around my body, but the most visible one is the scar slitting my eyebrow. I hate myself for not being able to save him. I guess that's why my parents wanted a fresh start. They are absolutely thrilled to start fresh and move to a brand new place, but as usual I'm always the odd one out.

"Iris are you finished packing!" My mom yells from downstairs.
"Yeah, Totally! I'll be down in a second." Lying to her, I start panicking. I quickly grab the last of things I want to pack with me.
Running down the stairs to the living room with my box's full of personal items, I'm finally ready to say goodbye to the neighbourhood I once lived in.

After driving to the new house in Hawkins, I analyzed all the details of the house. It reminded me of the Hogwarts school in those Harry Potter movies but smaller. This is something I could definitely get used to.

...
Months later

Waking up friday morning for school, I began to think about how nice living at Hawkins has been for me. I made a new friend. Her name's Hennessy, she's the coolest. We do almost everything together. I've been getting high with her lately, but obviously that's a secret that's going to be kept from my parents.

Wiping my face, I try to clear my thoughts. I get out of bed and start walking to the bathroom outside my door. I head straight to the sink and begin to wash my face, then dry off the water. Looking up in the mirror, I scan and examine my face. I glanced at my brown skin, eyes, long eyelashes, and curly hair.

I put on some mascara and lip gloss then head back to my room to find an outfit to wear. I go through my drawers and find green cargos and a black crop top to put on, I quickly grab my gold chain, some rings with my bag and walk out the door.

"Bye mom! Bye da-" I get cut off.
"Iris you didn't even eat breakfast yet!" My mom yells.
I run to the kitchen and grab the sandwich that was made for me.
"Thanks guys, bye again!" I rush out the door.

Finally reaching school, I meet up with Hennessy.
"Hi Henny" I smile at her. She has fair skin and brown eyes but has dark brown straight hair just like the liquor Hennessy.
"Hey girl! What's up?"
"Nothing really, I don't feel like going to class though that's for sure." I say. Thinking about how nice it would've been if I could sleep in.
"I feel you. I honestly feel the same way." She says, while rubbing her eyes.
"Yeah well, I guess I'll see you around lunch?"
"Of course!" I said. Waving to her and heading off to class.

It's now our lunch break. Me and Hennessy met up at the lunch cafeteria and that's when we suddenly heard...

"But as long as you're into band or science, or parties. Or a game where you toss balls into Landry baskets!" Eddie yells.
"This school is so dramatic at times" I turn to Hennessy.
"You could say that again! But Eddie is actually pretty cool. I think you guys would get along pretty well" She says.
I continue to glance at him.
"You want something, freak?" Jason says to Eddie. In response, Eddie made a funny face with his tongue sticking out and put his two pointer fingers beside his forehead. He began making a spluttering sound. That's what made me burst out with laughter.

"Well, well, well, did I just catch you laughing Iris?" Hennessy says to me. I quickly stop laughing. "No you didn't."
"I don't know why, you're so afraid to admit you guys are so alike." Hennessy comments.
"We're literally nothing alike!"
"You guys get along so well in class, but if you say so..."

After lunch break I had to go to English class. A wave of nervousness passed through me. I don't quite no why. I don't usually get nervous.
It's definitely not because Eddie is there, right?

I walk to the classroom, I'm a little early but whatever. My boring teacher begins to talk about an upcoming assignment. He stops talking so I start to take some notes.

...
Minutes later

A faint but loud sound of music starts blasting, I lift my head up and it's Eddie walking in with his headphones.

"Eddie Munson! Late to my class again!" The teacher yells.
Eddie removes his headphones. "Huh?"
"Don't be late or you'll get another detention." He says in a stern voice.
"Okay, whatever."

He walks over to the desk beside me. "Hey Iris." He says smiling at me.

"Hi." I smile back at him. "What were you listening to?" He had interesting taste in music.

"Oh, I'm listening to AC/DC." Eddie hands me the headphones.

I put them on and listened to the song, the guitarist never cease to amaze me. I smile and bob my head to the beat of the music, and from the corner of my eye I see Eddie staring at me.

"What?" I said, very confused.

"Nothing. You're just sooo cute when you enjoy yourself." He smirks, glancing at my lips. Then he meets his eyes back with mine.

"Shut up." I say annoyed. I roll my eyes and remove the headphones and hand them back to him. He's always teasing me whenever he gets the chance. It's so annoying. "But, uh, 'highway to hell', it's a good song. The guitar, the drums, and the lyrics are top tier most definitely!"

"Maybe you can come over and listen to me play it on my guitar some time princess." Eddie winked, grinning really hard.

'Princess' he knew that would get me annoyed.

"Yeah, sure. " I say sarcastically.

Now I remember why he frustrates the hell out of me.
