   Over the weekend, I'm just chilling and watching a tv show in my room. That's when I hear my mom yell, "Iris!"
"Yes mom?" I say. I wait for her to say something but she didn't respond. Sighing, I begin to get off my bed and walk downstairs to the living room.

I see my mom watching tv and sitting on the couch. Rolling my eyes "Mom, I answered your call." I said, while going to sit beside her.

"Oh well I didn't hear you. But anyways, since your dad is still working, I was thinking we can go see some family friends that me and your father go way back with." She tells me.

I'm so confused. "You guys have friends here?"

"Yeah, and they have kids around your age! So let's go."

  Driving to the house I'm curious about who these people are. We're finally at their house and get out the car and start walking to their door. My mom begins to knocks. Shortly after, a middle aged black man with a moustache answered the door.

"Charles! It's so good to see you!" My mom says happily.
"Hey, Athena!" The man says. Oh yeah, I may have forgotten to tell you that's my mom's name... but anyways!
The man starts to turn to me.
"Hi! You must be Iris, I'm Charles Sinclair. I'm a good friend of your parents." He says.
"Yeah, nice to meet you!"
We go inside his house and I glance around, while my mom and him talk.

His wife was appeared in the kitchen. My mom walks to her and gives the women a big hug.
"Hi Sue, it's so good to see you!"

The women chuckles. "It's so good to see you too, Athena!"
They let go of each other and start to separate. This women called Sue started to look at me.
"Hi" I said.
"Oh my gosh! Hey, it's so good to finally meet you."
I start to laugh because I've never seen this woman in my whole damn life and she's glad to see me, although she doesn't know me. I try to settle myself down.
"Likewise" I smile at her.

"Ah, that reminds me..." Sue begins to say.
"Lucas! Get down here!" She yells.

Stomping down the stairs, I see this boy come down looking a little annoyed. He begins to walk toward us.
"Yes mom?"

"I want you to meet Iris, you guys both go to the same school. So maybe y'all can get to know each other."
He moves his focus to me.
"Hey, it's nice to meet you. Uh, I would say my name but you kind of just heard it being screamed a couple seconds ago." Lucas says to me.

He starts to glance at his mom when he said that.
"Oh, stop it!" Sue says.
I begin to giggle.
While Lucas smiles at me. "Anyways I was thinking about heading out. And hanging out with Mike, Dustin, and Eddie."
"Oh, okay." Charles said as his wife and my mom head to their couch in the living room.

Lucas continues to say "Iris you can come too, if you'd like."

"Sure! That'll be nice." I say. Completely forget that my mom

"Okay well let's get going then."

"Alright! Bye mom, we'll be back!" I say to my mom.

Me and Lucas start to walk out the door.
"You're welcome for getting you out of there, you wouldn't of survived with their boring ass talking." He says.

"I could handle myself, I would've snuck both of us out without any of them noticing."

"Oh, yeah?" He laughs.

"Yeah!" I say to him.

As we continue walking he then says.
"Okay I'll remember that for later."
