We continue walking and it feels like we've been walking forever. But it's only been 5 minutes. We passed multiple houses before Lucas began to turn to one of the houses in the neighbourhood. It was this rectangular shaped house with a smaller second level on top. Lucas walked up to the door but before he was about to knock on it, he paused and turned to me."They kind of get competitive with dnd, just to warn you. If you ask me, they take the game too seriously." He laughs after saying the last part.
"Noted." I say with a slight smile.
He nods then starts to knock on the door. We wait a couple seconds for someone to answer. Some white guy with brown wavy shoulder length hair and bangs smoothly covering his forehead opens the door.
"Lucas! You made it, I thought you would've had basketball practice or something." The guy says.
"Come on Mike, I told you I would be here. I don't break my promises."
"My bad, you're right." He said to him smiling.
A moment later, it's like it took him a minute to realize that someone else was here. As he moves his focus to me, we awkwardly look at each other for little bit.
That's when Lucas noticed that he hadn't introduced me to him at all.
Lucas clears his throat. "Oh uh, right. This is Iris. She goes to our school, she's pretty cool so I thought I should bring her."
"Hi I'm Mike." He said kindly. "Just in case this one over here didn't tell you, don't mind us if we get too hyped up over dnd." He states laughing.
"Don't worry, I did tell her." Lucas says smiling.
I began to laugh. "Yeah I'm fulling prepared."
"Alright then." Mike says. He stands out the way. "Well come in, we're in the just chilling in the basement."
We walked inside the house. While Mike closed the door, Lucas lead me to the basement. Mike caught up to us and we all walked down the stairs to the basement. This is when I saw Eddie leaning back at the end of a brown couch with random shaped designs. Another guy wearing a hat that says 'thinking cap' is sitting on singular chair beside the couch. While two other guys are sitting by a small table.
Mike starts talking with the guy that's wearing the hat. "Dustin! Lucas is here and he brought this girl, her name's Iris."
I wave to the guy named Dustin. "It's nice to meet you!" I said.
"Yeah, likewise." He says with a smile.
I nod at his response, while Lucas starts to mingle with Mike and Dustin."Iris! So we meet again." Eddie said, bringing my attention to him. Once our eyes met, his face slowly went into a smirk.
I roll my eyes at him. "So we do, I guess." I respond, fiddling with the sides of my jeans.
Eddie sits up a little, looking up at me. He slowly starts looking me up and down, fixated on my legs, his eyes moving up to waist, then making it back up to my eyes. Oddly, this made me start blushing. He noticed and began to smile.
"Come onnn, I know you missed me." He says.
"Whatever." I reply.
Awkwardly, just standing here is getting weird. So I just head to the couch and sit down. I take a seat in the middle of the couch, making distance between me and Eddie.
Minutes later, the guys said they were gonna start playing dnd soon. So I begin to just glance around the basement, and in the corner of the room I spotted this small four legged table with two chairs against the wall. On the table it had a record player with records beside it. Something weighed me to walk to it and play some music.
I went through the records. I saw artists like Steve Lacy, Lauryn Hill, Ginuwine, and Tupac. I laughed looking at the Tupac record because the song 'Hit Em Up' was on the record. I was definitely gonna play it later. But for now I decided to play Steve Lacy for a chill vibe.
I take out the record from it's package, and place it onto the record player. The song "infrunami" comes on.
I look down at the record player and watch the record spin around.
"Someone's fascinated with the record player." A voice says from behind me. I turn around and it's Eddie.
"Well yeah, records are cool." I say.
"You got a nice vibe." He says smiling.
"Thank you." I reply.
I'm low key confused on why he's talking to me right now.Steve Lacy's guitar begins to grab my attention. I start bobbing my head to the music.
"You know..." Eddie's voice reminding me he's still there.
"I can play this song just at good as Steve Lacy, probably even better." He says with that signature smirk of his.
"Yeah right." I roll my eyes at him.
"It's true, you should come by my place and I'll prove it to you." He says.
I'm so tempted to say no but I'm curious if it's true. I guess you could say imma sucker for guitar players.
"Okay name the time and day, since you're so confident in yourself." I said.
"You can come on Friday after school. I'll walk you there, it's not far." Eddie tells me.
"Alright." I say in response.
A couple seconds later I realize how close we're standing together. My breast almost touching his chest. I look up at him and begin to get a little nervous as he's looking back down at me. For some reason, my eyes wondered down to his lips. Eddie looked down to my too.
It felt like time was moving really slow. We began to lean towards each other. Our lips got closer and closer as we were about t—
"GET A ROOM!" Dustin says to us.
Eddie and I flinch and quickly separated away from one another.
"Yeah, we're starting to play now!!" Mike says.
"Yeah yeah, whatever." Eddie says, rolling his eye. He turns back to me... "I'll see you late" he says to me.
"I guess you will." I say as he smiles back at me.
