Your Selection

Introduction

You wake up to your black fat cat Hollyleaf nudging your face with her paw, trying to wake you up. "Hollyleaf," You moan. "It's too early let me go back to sleep." You roll over and attempt to go back to sleep, but despite yout attempts Hollyleaf keeps on nudging you trying to make you wake up.

"Fine, fine I'm up." You groan and stumble out of bed, but you instantly want to return to the warmth of your warm, warm covers. Hollyleaf jumps off your bed and jumps onto the window-seal, she has always liked sitting there so the hot sun could warm up her silky, black fur.

You start to put on your dressing gown when your maid Mia walks in. Mia has been your maid for long as you can remember she's always been there for you and has never let you down.

"Happy 18 Birthday!" She said cheerfully with one of her big smiles.

"It's my birthday? Oh my gosh it's my birthday." You couldn't believe you had forgot. You had been looking forward to this date for years now, because on your 18th birthday your parents were finally going to let you have your selection! You spin around and pull Mia in for a hug. "Mia I can't believe it after years I'm finally going to be able to have my very own selection! Do you know how long iv'e waited for this day? I'm finally going to get the chance to meet the man of my dreams! Do you think he will be tall, I hope hes tall, with perfect blue eyes. But what happens if I don't find him? I will be sentenced to rule alone forever. How will I produce an heir I will let the whole country down."

"Now now, don't worry Y/N, I'm sure you will meet the man of your dreams, but you still need to wait three days until you meet them. So why don't we get you dressed ready for the day?" Mia said politely.

You will be selecting the men that will be in your selection tonight of the report, but they won't actually be getting here until Monday and it was Friday today.

"Okay," You reply. "I want to wear some jeans and plain T-shirt today please. I will change into my F/C (favorite color) long dress just before the report okay?"

"Okay." She replies as she starts to get your clothes organised. As she is getting your clothes ready for you, you quickly sprint down the stairs into the kitchen and grab a coffee and some fruit the chefs had made waiting for you. You drink and eat it quickly and sprint back up stairs to get changed. But along the way you bump into your dad.

"Hey sweetie, Happy Birthday!" He says. "Are you excited for the report today you will finally have your selection!"

"Yes!" You say with lots of enthusiasm. "Can we move the report to now. I don't think I can wait all day!"

"Don't worry I'm sure your day will pass very quickly, and if you want some help making it go even quicker you could help your mother with her work. She is always saying that she always needs a pair of extra hands and it would be good practice for when your queen."

"But her work is boring, too much math. Can't I help you with your work?"

"You know sweetie you will have to do all her work someday, so it would be better if you had some practice now. And my work is far to easy for someone who is as smart as you."

"Fine, but latter I still need to get changed."

"Alright sweetie and after you help your mother you can have your birthday present."

"Yay!" I say as you run off back into my room. When you get back to my room you find Mia still in there cleaning it.

"Y/N welcome back, I put your clothes on your bed, you can get changed when you want," She says. "Oh and also I got you a birthday present." She gives you a small blue box. you open it with care, inside the box lies a pair of beautiful diamond earings.
