I sat down on my knees as I began to dig up the plants in the front yard. Sidney thought it would be a nice thing to bring the full potential to our house. So while she is finishing up unpacking I decided to do some yard work, I mean the place could really use it. My idea is to get tons of different flowers to plant against the railings. Might bring color to the boring color of the house.

Pulling out a few weeds I put them to the side, pushing a few worms that wiggled their way to the surface. Maybe tomorrow I can make a trip to the market and get some seeds, that way before the colder seasons they have time to grow.

"Excuse me,' I hear behind me.

Glancing over my shoulder I see an older woman with a plate of cookies in her hands, she walks up to me with a smile. You stand up, wiping the dirt from your hands on your pants, "Hello, how can I help you?"

"I couldn't help but notice that you are new here, so I just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood. I'm Nancy and I live across the street from you."

"Well I am (Y/n), and my best friend is inside, she's Sidney. We have a dog too, his name is Chewie."

"My granddaughter and I made some chocolate chip cookies to greet you, so here you two go. It's nice to see new people in this town after everything that's happened."

"Oh uh thank you. What are you referring to?"

"Oh forgive me, it's nothing to worry about. Just welcome to the neighborhood, if you need anything ill to be across the street."

She sends me a sweet smile before turning on her heels and heading back home. Holding the plate of cookies tightly I make my way inside to where Sindey was. "Hey," You pant her the plate of cookies before grabbing yourself one.

"Oooo cookies," She quickly grabs one, chewing on it instantly. "Wait, you're all dirty from the dirt and like the earth. Where did you pull this out? The ground? Oh god, am I eating dirt cookies?"

"Noooo. Nancy an older lady that lives across the street, brought them over to welcome us to town."

"Oh, that is so nice of her. I love me some baked goods."

"She also mentioned something weird. Said that it was nice to see fresh faces after everything that's happened. I'm not fully sure what she meant by that."

"What if she meant about Billy?"

"How would she know about it? We moved pretty far from where everything happened though."

"You're right. Sorry, it's just still hard to grasp the fact that happened. But what chances is it that it happens again, am I right?"
