A/N: This book will have mentions of medical terms. And I once again need to remind y'all that I just write from what I hear on TV. I don't claim to know anything real that's medically related.

"I can't believe we made it! We are finally graduating. And now we will both be working together at the number one hospital in Seoul. Aren't you excited Mingyu?" Kim Seokjin asked his longtime boyfriend.

"Of course babe. Don't forget later my parents will take us all out to go to the restaurant with your parents. Your father is still coming right?"

Jin looks at his phone and doesn't see any texts from his father saying he won't make it. So he replies, "Yes, he wouldn't miss his favorite son's graduation."

His boyfriend Mingyu chuckles and says, "You're his only son baby. Should we go get to our assigned seats?"

"Yes, let's go."

They go search for their seats amongst the rest of the graduating class and notice their seats are only two apart. Luckily they share the same surname. Always makes thing easier.

As the auditorium starts to fill up with students and family members, Jin begins to get worried that his father will miss his graduation.

He turns to look behind him and he finds his mother who just nods at him. Before she looks away without another glance. He hates how his mother is so closed off. She has never been very affectionate towards him but he always blamed it on how she was raised.

He takes one last look around the large room before he gives his attention back to the front audience.

Pretty soon they begin the announcements and he will have to deliver his valedictorian speech. When it's almost time for them to call his name, he feels his phone vibrate in his pocket.

He quickly pulls it out thinking it's his father letting him know he just arrived. But his heart breaks when he sees the message he left.

Appa: Hey Jin-ah, I am sorry but I won't be able to make it. You can ask your mother the reason why. I wish you luck. Enjoy your day.

Jin is stunned that his father won't be there to see him get his diploma. After all the years he devoted to his schooling because of him.

He is then tapped on his shoulder by the person next to him, "Hey! They just called your name. Go!'

He squeezes through the crowd and walks up the steps to the podium and smiles at the audience. He then gives his valedictorian speech in which he talks about the beginning of his life long love of medicine because of his father. When he's finished with his speech, everyone begins to clap. And he returns to his seat.

They then begin to announce the names of students to go get their diplomas.

When his name is called he stands and falls in line with everyone else before him. He then walks across the stage to receive his diploma and smiles halfheartedly at the camera that takes his picture. Then walks back down the stage to where the others are waiting around with their family members.

He sees everyone looking all happy and excited and he decides not to let it get to him. It's not like it's the first time his father has missed an important moment of his life. He should be used to it by now. It still stings though.

He stands alone waiting for Mingyu to come to his side when he is suddenly approached by an older gentleman.

"Excuse me, May I please have a word with you?"

Jin looks around behind him wondering who he's talking to you. The gentleman laughs and says, "I'm talking to you, Kim Seokjin."

"Oh! Sorry I wasn't sure." Jin chuckles.
