'Sparkling POV'
"What do you mean, you met my parents?" I growled under my breath, "Also, why would they be together?"
Vampire coughed again, staggering to stand up; he smiled.
"It's not like I'd planned it, it was a coincidence. I met them at the bakery today, I was with them before I came here."
I pursed my lips. What did he do with them? What were they doing with eachother? Man, even I haven't talked to them in a few years. I watched Vampire as he put his hands in his pockets and quietly crept into the shadows, out of the light's reach.
"Don't worry, we didn't talk much. But just so you know.."
He turned around and smiled slyly.
"...they're waiting for you."
And then he disappeared into pitch black, slowly, like a ghost. I heard his footsteps get further and further away from me. I dropped my hands; my dry mouth swallowing the last bit of saliva on my tongue.
'Taffy POV'
The clock on the wall ticked by the second.
I glanced up at the boy.
I wanted to talk to him, but I don't think I know him really well. What should I say? What if I make it worse? What was happening right now?
I poured some tea into a cup, and slid it over the counter to him. He looked up, and I smiled.
"You okay?"
I watched him smile too.
"Yeah, thank you."
It was quiet in the bar, so quiet that the dead night's howl can be clearly heard from outside. I coughed to break the silence, "A..are you and the boss close?" I asked.
The boy bitterly coughed too, almost as if he was answering no.
"We... we just met yesterday. Y'know, when I, well, cried." He looked down.
I sighed and walked over, placing my hands over his- they were cold, like ice. He flinched and looked up at me, I smiled.
"There's no need to feel bad. Here at the bar, I do more than just pour drinks y'know? If you want to talk, I'll be right here." I turned and started to walk back, "...at least, until my boss comes back." I winked at my customer.
...
My smile slowly dropped when I turned away.
'Herb POV'
Some time later...
This is so embarrassing! And awkward! And weird! Aaa, Sparkling, please hurry up with the discussion!
I tapped my fingers on my legs, pursing my lips.
Suddenly, I heard a jingling bell behind me that broke the silence. I quickly turned around.
"Sparkling! You're back! How did it go?" I leaped up from my seat. He smiled and sat down next to me without saying a word.
"Taffy, can you give me a shot? I'll pay you extra today."
"Huh- oh! Uh, yes! yes, um, sir. I'll do that."
...Then it was silent again.
I felt confused. Drained. Did I.. do something wrong?

'Sparkling POV'
Hm? It's so warm... and it smells so nice...
I opened my eyes, and a blurry image or herb stood in front of me. Herb! Oh Herb, I'm so glad you're right here by my side-
I turned around, hearing footsteps behind me. Who's there?
It was pitch black.
I turned back around, but Herb wasn't there anymore. Instead, someone else was there.
Those dead black eyes and thin arms, the straight blonde hair that fell shoulder length. The stare. The stare that haunted me.
"...M...mom? Dad?"
And then they too, faded from my sight.
...
"...sparkling?"
"...Sparkling!"
I opened my eyes and jolted up.
I looked around.
I was lying on my medium sized bed, my clothes were still on. The fresh scent of flowers and grass filled the room as I finally realized who was in front of me: Herb.
"H...huh? Oh- I'm so sorry, I... why..." I stammered as I threw off the white blanket on me, quickly standing up from the bed.
But that wasn't for long, as I almost immediately flopped back down. Strange... my legs weren't standing up.
"Ow... sorry, my head hurts." I tried to laugh it off. But it was true. My brain did hurt.
Herb quietly sat back down on the bed next to me, and laughed lightly.
"Haha... you... you passed out yesterday after one shot. I guess you're a total lightweight even though you're a bartender, huh?"
Wait... what?!
I remember taking the shot... and drinking it... and then.. then...
...
My cheeks went red.
"AH! I'M...SO SORRY HERB! I didn't mean for you to see me like that? I... I didn't mean to cause trouble or-"
"It was the least I can do, as thanks for scaring Drunk As-... sorry, Vampire away." Herb giggled.
I laughed nervously. Did I really pass out? Or did I just get drunk and ramble to Herb? Oh no... this is so bad! I thought I could hold it a bit longer, but I guess I really am a lightweight...
I sighed, washing my hands over my face.
"No problem... I... I have to get going. Thank you too, Herb. Let's keep in contact, uh, okay? T-thanks, bye!" I grabbed my jacket and ran out the door, the wind slapping against my hot-ridden face.
'Herb POV'
...
Well, that's it.
I blew it.
The one person that I thought that cared about me- even they left my life as well.
Why do I make everyone hate me?
