Part 18

~Scarlett~ (1 month later)

"Eddie you can uncover my eyes now."

"No it's a surprise." he insists

"You know I hate surprises."

"Why do you have to be such a gremlin sometimes."

I hear him open a door and he guides me through it.. I think.

"Open." he says

"Eddie you have to uncover my eyes for me to open."

Dummy

He uncovers my eyes and in front of me is an empty apartment .. it's very spacious, and actually really nice.

"Do you like it?" he asks

"Its really nice Eddie, are you moving in here?"

He rocks back and forth with his hands behind his back in a mischievous manner..

"Oh my god you are!"

I run up to him and hug him tightly "This is amazing, you're making big boy moves!" I say proudly

He grabs me by the waist and kisses my lips "Thank you Sweetheart. I'm gonna start moving in tomorrow."

"I can come help, if needed."

He smiles "Of course."

I'm really happy for him, he needs his own space, and I think he's at a point in his life where having an apartment is vital. I know he's been working so hard with the band, and with his job as a car mechanic at the small auto shop in the downtown area.

Seeing him achieve something like this feels so special.. it's hard to even believe we are here right now.

The past month has been nothing short of amazing. Our relationship has blossomed, we have gotten to know each other on an even bigger personal level, and although his schedule is packed, we are still able to make time for dates and what not.

But lately Steve had been kinda weird, he was being really standoffish, and it made me second guess our friendship.

Stevie had been my best friend for so long.. so I wondered why all of a sudden he decided to act so cold towards me?

Did he know about Eddie?

There was no way.. I hadn't told anyone, not even Dustin.

Well whatever was going on with him, I hoped he didn't magically decide to hate me from one day to the next cause that would suck.

"Everything okay sweetheart?" Eddie asks as he caresses my cheek

"Yeah just thinking."

"About what?"

I sigh "Steves been ignoring me.. and he's been like my brother for so many years .. and now he's acting so cold towards me." I honestly feel like crying just saying the words, I care about Steve, and he's never been like this before.

What did I do wrong?

"I'm sure he's just busy, and he's probably focusing on his relationship as well."

I nod in response "You're right, maybe I'm just overthinking."

"So any plans for tonight?" he asks

"I honestly want to rest tonight, I might invite Robin to my house for a relaxing girls night."

"Okay that's perfect.. because I kinda want to go out with my boys tonight.. if that's okay?"

I tilt my head at him and giggle "Are you asking for permission? Because if that's the case you can definitely go. I want you to know that you don't have to ask, we technically aren't official anyways so I have no power vested in me to say no."
