Part 20

~Eddie~

"What are you doing here?" Scarlett asks Steve 

He rudely rushes his way through the door and I immediately get ticked off "No one invited you."

Steve scoffs "I'm not here for you actually."

This motherfucker.

I step closer towards him 

"Eddie, five minutes please." Scarlett says 

"I'm not leaving you alone with this son of a bitch."

Steve tries to lunge at me and Scarlett pushes him with full force "STOP I'M NOT DOING THIS! EDDIE GO TO THE ROOM SO I CAN TALK TO STEVE." she yells 

Damn.. okay.

I make my way to the room and slam the door.. I guess they could use some privacy. But I'm worried he's gonna disrespect her. 

I attempt to eavesdrop and place my ear against the door to listen to the conversation. I can tell I've already missed a few pieces of the conversation. 

"You really wanna settle down with a loser like him, a guy who isn't mature enough to be with a woman like you, a guy who still fucks around with his ex? I saw him at the bar with Chrissy, they looked awfully close and now here you are wearing his clothes trying to defend him. It's pathetic Scarlett, you're fucking pathetic!" Steve yells 

The sound of him yelling at her makes me want to run out there and beat the shit out of him. 

"No Steve, you're pathetic. Eddie got drugged by Chrissy, she tried to take advantage of him ,and so I went to go pick him up. He isn't with Chrissy."

"How do you know that, how do you know he's not just feeding you lies right out of his fucking hands!?"

I would never lie to her.. 

"Because he's with me Steve. Eddie and I are together."

She told him.. she actually told him.. 

 "Tell me your kidding Henderson.. tell me your fucking around right now.." his voice sounding angry 

"After everything he put you through? Really Scarlett?"

"You don't know the full story, you always wanted some sort of reason not to like him so you decided to immediately blame my drug problem on him and my entire depressive episode, but no Steve, no. You always jump to conclusions! And might I add, why are you so upset? Why do you care so much?"

"Because I know your dad wouldn't have wanted you with someone like this."

My eyes widen at his response.. even I know that is a low fucking blow. 

I hear her anger illuminating through her voice "Do not bring him into this Steve, how dare you!"

"You're in the wrong Scarlett.. just know that. I thought I knew you."

"Don't be like that.. C'mon Harrington.. you've been apart of me since we were young. Don't be like that." 

The sound of her voice breaking is causing tears to swell in my eyes. I want to go out there and defend her.. but It'll only make things worse. 

"We have never kept secrets from each other. And all of sudden this guy comes into the picture and our dynamic changes? No Scarlett. No. He can have you. It's clear you're wrapped around his little finger.
But when shit hits the fan.. don't come looking for me."
