Instead of calling Brooke this morning, Karma called her lover boy.
Conner mostly watched her do everything and didn't say anything. Maybe it was because she didn't really have the time to talk either. He got up at 5 in the morning for her to call at 5:30. He wanted to be awake while on the call and not be sleeping.
Karma was now in the bathroom braiding her hair. For now she had on a tights and a white vest.
She chuckled at Conner just staring at her looking like he was fighting sleep. "You know, you can go to sleep, I just wanted the company over the phone."
"Then what would be the point of me being here."
"Fine fine, fare point made."
"What time are you going on again."
"8, the boys still coming?" She said rushing at this point looking at the time.
"Yeah for sure."
"Hey um, Con, I've gotta tell you something-"
"Kar! Melanie's ready you'll change when you get there let's go!"
"You know what you'll figure out on your own, by Con, see you there."

She hung up the phone and got hey backpack full with her lunch snacks hair essentials and a butt load of other things.

They weren't staying yet. Melanie would drop off Karma at the time she's supposed to get there and the others will come back later before her team goes on.
"Remember Kar." Brooke said hugging the girl careful to watch her stomuch. Karma couldn't wear a bandage because it would make it obvious. So when Brooke gets there, right before she would apply makeup to hide them.

"Love you mamà." Karma said hugging her then got her bags and walked into the entrance. She knew where the dressing rooms where so she went ahead. "Hey Karma, over here." Hailey said waving at her. She was one of the girls Karma could trust most, all the other just seem to want to get close because of her brother and his team. Brooke didn't like her though. She felt that Hailey was trying to take her place, but Hailey never shows any signs of that, she's just naturally nice to those who are to her.
Hailey took her bag and placed it next to hers in the room. "Time to light this shit up." She said grabbing Karma's hand and then running through the hall to the dress room.

They were dressed and ready to go. "Hey um, you want me to help you with that." Hailey asked pointing to the bruises. "Uh-."
"No she doesn't I'll take care of that thank you." Brooke said with her fanny and a makeup brush in her hand. Karma hugged her tight out of nerves and the two walked off. Hailey shook it off and put on a smile going to the other girls.

"She isn't that bad you know." Karma said as Brooke was on her knee working on her stomach. Brooke only hummed irritated making Karma chuckle.
"Last call for thunder birds"
"You know that name still gets me sick, but good luck out there, we all will be here waiting for you after."
"Thanks B, I love you." She said jogging off to where everyone else was at.

The seats were full, must be 100's out there. 4 teams had been on already and now it's time for Karma's team.
As she lined up behind some of her teammates coach came up to them.
"This is it guys, make it or break it, land every move, get that first place, I don't care if it hurts or not, win this."
They all had the 'wtf' faces on. Karma thought cheer was supposed to be fun, but her new coach didn't have any plans for that.

"Now Welcome! Texas very own cheer squad! The thunder birds!"

And that was it. From that moment on, it was all up to the judges.

The stage was full with girls in uniforms. It was hype and the heat was everything, Karma felt like she won already. There was one more pose to stink to pull off before it came to a conclusion. The beat hit her eardrums fadely. She could hear her own breathing. Karma looked around and saw her family taking up a whole section and having her name spelt out.
Music flood back into her ears and she stepped up. They pushed her up making her fly. Almost 3 bodies in the air she landed it. Karma breathed hard as hell in the end pose. The crowd went wild.
As they deformed and went off stage Karma ran to the nearest bathroom. As she got in she locked her stall and started coughing up blood? She rolled up the top piece of the outfit and looked at the bruises. They looked as they were before so why is this happening?

She flushed the toilet, washed out her mouth and looked into the mirror making sure everything was as it was before.
She walked out seeing the two rival teams, Melanie, Dayrl and Brooke all cheering for her. Conner stepped forward and believe it or not Karma thought she saw Zion with a snug look on his face. "You were amazing." He said handing flowers and hugging her. "Ok alright, enough of that, but good job honey I'm proud of you." Karma thanked him and they all went back into the crowd including Karma. The boys were booing some teams and the girls just rolled their eyes at their stupidness.

Outside was getting a little dark and lights had to be turned on. Zion grabbed Karma's wrist and pulled her down the stairs taking her outside. "Shit Zion, I thought i was being kidnapped."
"Who is he." He said pulling up a video with her and a certain someone making out on the swinging bench. She was utterly shocked. "I-I-I, where'd you get that Zion- I-."
"I asked a question. Is it that little fucker inside?! Is it him that's got you unfocused?! Unaware?!"
"Unaware of what Zion for christ sake." She said running through her hair panicking.
"It's him is it."
"No no Z, please I mean no."
"Don't lie to me Karmaine. He's got the same hair and he never took off his shirt with the number. Number 44."

'No, don't do this to me.'
Started humming in Karma's head as tears flowed down her face. It was the song playing while her mother was killed.
"I'll rock his shit tomorrow. You wait and see."
"No but Zion listen to me." She said trying to grab his arm as he walked away. Zion pulled it away walking back inside.
She doesn't feel anything for Zion, but what has she done.
