You were looking down at a merch table of some concept art as your friend ran up behind you scaring the shit out of you.
"Y/N! It's time! Let's go!" She grabs your left arm pulling you away from the crowd.
"Ok, ok, ok, I'm coming." You brush her hand off of your arm and fix your shirt that she had twisted up. "It's not until one." You pull out your phone to check the time and see that it was 12:30 already. "Shit!"
"Yeah no shit. We are going to be way far back in the line now." She was fake crying trying to get a rise out of you, but it wasn't working because you were already beating yourself up in your head.
As the two of you walked into the room you both gasped. The line was at least 100 people by now. Of course your want to look for things to buy was going to distract you from the highlight of your life.
"So what pose did you pick?" Your friend turns to you with her head cocked to the side. "Personally I want to go with the hug from behind. Those arms around me." She swoons as her eyes roll back into her head.
You giggle as she sways into you and you catch her and place her back on her feet. "I don't know. I'm still thinking." You stare down the line just loosing hope that this will be worth the wait. You wanted nothing more than to be next to him, but after he had grabbed your arm earlier you couldn't get the thought of his hand on your skin out of your head. You reach over touching the mark on your arm under your tattoo and smile to yourself.
An hour had passed and you two were third from the front of the line. Your friend was squealing and jumping up and down, making you cover your face from embarrassment.
"Will you calm down? He will think we are two crazy people that escaped from the asylum." You turn to her crossing your arms.
"I just don't know how you are so calm right now! This is all you could talk about for the past six months!" She grabs you by the shoulder shaking you violently.
"I know, I know. Just nervous is all." You shrug your shoulders and turn your head in the direction where the pictures were being taken. Your eyes land on him. Sucking in a sharp breath you could swear that your heart skipped a beat.
"We are next!" She squealed next to you.
Ok, this is it. Composure, collect your thoughts. Hell he probably doesn't even remember you from earlier. He meets hundreds of people at these things.
As it was your friends turn to go up she was smiling ear to ear as the photographer gets them set and takes a couple of shots. She turns to face him and says something to him as he leans down and gives her a hug.
"NEXT!" You hear a voice say, as you were lost in thought. "Ma'am lets go!"
"Oh, sorry." You step up next to him as you can feel the nerves taking over. Your hands were starting to shake. You still had no idea what you wanted the picture to look like. "Stupid." You say under your breath.
"Hey! I remember you." That deep voice pulls you out of your trance and makes you look up to meet his eyes. He was flashing that smile to you and you could feel the red racing over your cheeks. "So, what would you like?"
Your heart stops beating, or so it felt. You just stare at him in the eyes as you try to focus on breathing. "Uh, I-"
He chuckles at you then grabs your left hand placing it around his neck. He then wraps his left arm around your waist. Pulling you closer to him he leans down and then dips you backwards. The inhuman sound that escaped your lips had him full out laughing at this point.
"Look at me, trust me. Live for now." He was whispering to you as you could hear the shutter of the camera going off to your right.
He stands you back up and slides his right hand down your back and slips it into your back pocket. You freeze in place. Was he really coping a feel?
"Nice to meet you again." He leans down and places his forehead on yours then pulls you into a hug.
"Yeah, you too. Thank you." You whisper back to him.
"Anytime!" He pulls back and kisses you on the cheek.
You stumble off to the right were your friend was standing there with her mouth dropped open. "Uh, Y/N. That was HOT!" She wraps her arm around your waist as the two of you walk back to the main part of the convention.
"Eh, he probably does that with everyone." You drop your gaze to the crazy carpet below your feet.
"Uh, NO! I was watching all of the others and you were the only one he kissed on the cheek. I wouldn't wash my face ever again." She places her hand on her face.
"EWWW! Don't be gross." You bump her with your hip. Sliding your hand in your back pocket you feel something. Pulling it out you bring it in front of you. There was a small piece of folded white paper in-between your fingers.
"What's that?" She turns toward you as you both stop walking.
"I don't know." You stare at it for a minute expecting it to be something like a receipt you forgot about before you packed for this trip.
"Well, open it!" She reaches for it as you swing your arm around and out of her grasp.
You bring your arm back in front of you and use both hands to unfold the paper. There was writing on the paper and as you got it open your eyes land on one thing. A phone number next to two letters 'JR'. Standing there your breath caught in your throat.
"OH MY GOD!" Your hand slaps over your friends mouth as 30 or so people around you two all stop what they were doing and turned to see what the commotion was.
"Shut up!" I don't want to be mobbed when others find out what I have." You link arms with her and pull her out of the convention center.
As the two of you walk down the street to where you had parked hours before she was looking back and forth from you to the road and back to you. "So, are you going to call him?" She pushes against you making you stumble over your own two feet.
"I'm not sure. What if it was some crazy person that slipped it into my pocket as we were shopping?" You slipped the paper out of your pocket again as your eyes landed on the letters again.
"If you don't I will." She goes to grab the paper again as you spin around making her fall to the ground. "OW!"
"Your own fault." You giggle under your breath as you help her up off the ground.
"Well, we have another night here in town, what do you want to do?" She brushes off her pants as she pulls you around to look at her.
"I want to go back to the hotel and change. Then we can go get some food." You turn back to start walking down the road.
As you get to the car you both slip in and it was a pretty quiet ride back to the hotel. All you could think about was if this was really his number, and if it was, why you? Only one-way to find out, you decided to text it and go from there.
Pulling into the hotel your friend jumps out as you had pulled your phone up to your face and opened the texting app. "I'll meet you up there." You turn to your friend as she shrugs her shoulders and gets out of the car walking into the hotel.
You look back at your phone and input the number and try to compose a message. After tem minutes of writing then deleting you settle on something simple.
Hey, it's Y/N from the convention. Slick move ;)
Locking your phone you shove it into your purse and grab the keys as you step out of the car. Walking into the hotel you step up to the elevator doors pressing the button. As the doors open you walk in, pressing the button for the third floor and lean against the sidewall. The doors close as you hear a faint chime from your purse.
