Chapter 14- The Surprise Visit

-The Next Day, November 4, 2008-

'We didn't have any food, water or coffee. ...Nasty Burger it is than... and Starlucks for coffee.' Danny thought as he dressed in his old suit that he wore to his parent's 20'th college reunion.

He jumped as he suddenly heard a knock at the door. "Sam, can you get that I'm gonna go get food and two cups of coffee!" he yelled as he finished getting dressed.

"Sure Hun." Sam said as Danny headed down the stairs from their room, went ghost and quickly left.

Sam quickly answered the door. "Hello?" she said as she looked out the door.

"Mrs. Fenton?" said a voice, "What a surprise?" Sam asked completely surprised by her visit.

"You don't remember, didn't Danny tell you I was coming?" Maddie asked as she set down bags on the kitchen table.

Sam bit her lip as she grasped her arm as she thought about it for a bit. "Oh... yeah he did , I guess I forgot Mrs. Fenton, sorry." she said.

Maddie laughed a bit. "Its fine Sam." Sam sighed in relief. "call me Maddie... you remember Sam; don't you?" she said in motherly tone.

Sam rubs her arm nervously, "I forgot since I'm not used to it." she said.

Maddie laughed. "Of course Sam, I understand we're family now." she said with a smile.

"Alright... Maddie." Sam said as she smiles, as she rubs her arms nervously.

"Alright, I got you and Danny a few basic necessities." Maddie said as she got up from the chair from the kitchen. "I see you guys have a kitchen table?" she asked a tad confused.

"Yeah, Danny bought it a while ago, we do have a dining room and table, problem is since we bought the kitchen table, we were unaware that it was an extra." Sam explains.

Maddie put her hand against her face. "Didn't Danny surprise you with the house, wouldn't that mean he saw the table?" she asked clearly confused.

"He bought the table before he saw this house." Sam said as she continued to bite her lip as she rubs her foot against her ankle.

"Oh..." said Maddie as she smiled. "That doesn't matter, How are you guys doing?, you know being newlyweds and all?" she asked as she started putting away groceries.

"We're doing okay, thanks for all the help Maddie.." Sam said with a small smile.

"No problem Sam." Maddie shrugs. "That's what families for." she began as Sam smiled. "I'm glad I have a daughter in law as great as you." she said.

Sam's smile fell, 'if only my mom sees me the same way as Maddie does..' she thought.

"What is it?" Maddie asked her kindly in concern tone as she looks at her with concern expression.

Sam sighed deeply. "it's my parents, ever since the wedding and me moving out, my parents haven't even tried to contact me, I mean yeah we had our ups and downs but their still my parents." she whispers as she shrugs.

"They'll come if and when they want to." Maddie whispers as she put a smile on Sam's face. "There's that smile, feeling better?" she asked as Sam nods. "Good, and you'll start a family when you're ready." she said sternly in motherly tone.

"Yeah, when we're settled and have our feet on the ground." Sam said as she finished helping putting the groceries away,

"You guys are only eighteen and already so well mature, I know you'll be fine both of you, I'm sure of It." said Maddie with a smile.
