Chapter 16- Danny's Dream Job

Dinner was going pretty well, dessert was a hit. The house looked great, and everything was falling into place.

'I hope I get that job at N.A.S.A, I would be so happy if I got the job, I would feel a lot more at ease.' Danny began his thought as he played with his fork,

'I've been feeling so tense and nervous, I just don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it all, married life, I want kids I'm sure Sam does too, but will I be able to handle it all?' he thought.

Maddie eventually got him out of his never-ending thoughts, "this desert is really good Sam," she began as she soon got interrupted.

Sam smiled, "Oh, thanks Maddie glad you like, it." she said as she smiled slightly.

"You guys, will be fine," Maddie said kindly as she drank her wine, she and Jack brought some when they came to dinner. "Danny?" she asked her son as she looked over at Jack gently taking his hand as they served the wine.

"Yeah, mom?" Danny asked in confusion as he turned to look at her.

"You're eighteen, living on your own with your wife, you can drink if you want to, you know?" Maddie explains kindly.

Danny looked at her in shock. "Really? Okay." he said a bit surprised.

"Of course, Danny we can't tell you what to do anymore. You're married, and I know we raised you right. Right?" Maddie said kindly.

Danny rubs back of his neck nervously. "Yes." he said respectively. 'Although it was Jazz who raised me most.' he thought.

Maddie smirked slightly. "There you go Danny boy!" yelled Jack as he gave him a red wine.

"But I'm eighteen." Danny began as he got interrupted by his parents.

"It's okay Danny," they reassured him.

Danny took a swig. It wasn't that bad but he didn't drink it all, he only had one glass.

Sam tried it too but she just took a sip.

The evening went well, there was laughter and they enjoyed each other's company, it was nice.

Danny was starting on a very interesting story when his phone went off. ''Hello?'' he said as he quickly answered.

"Is this Daniel Fenton?" A man asked.

"Yes." Danny said aloud, 'I wonder what he wants.' he thought.

The man continued to talk. "Hello, I'm George Martinez."

Danny coughed slightly as he cleared his throat. "Hello George, how may I help you?" he chuckled slightly.

"I'm calling you back, I interviewed you for an office position at N.A.S.A?" he concluded.

Danny gasped. 'N.A.S.A! Yes?! I couldn't believe it. N.A.S.A want's me?!' he thought, his eyes widened he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"I wanted to call and say congratulations you got the job. You will be working in the office with me." the man over the call said.

Danny was in complete shock. 'Me? Work at NASA?! I just? Wow.' he thought, "T, T..thank you, Mr. Martinez." he laughed slightly.

"Call me George," he said as he chuckled at his soon to be employee reaction over the call.

Danny stuttered slightly. "Well thanks, George," he said.

"See you tomorrow." the man said kindly over the call.
