A/N: I know it's way too late in the story to start POV's, but I got some insight from some of my friends irl and they say that I should do POV's because it lets the reader, you guys, know so much more detail and it builds more story. Anywho I'm not sorry for what I'm about to do, because it needs to be done. Oh and I heard that Sam's last name isn't Fischer, it's Fisher without the C, so that's my bad, but anyways back the story...
_______________________________________________________Gaege
Once I grab my gear I start to head to the helipad where Marius is waiting along with Taina, Nøkk, and Timur.
"Hey guys, what do you think about the mission?" I ask lightheartedly trying to make small talk to relieve some of the pre-mission anxiety.
"I think that this is a trap. First Paris now this, can't be a coincidence," Taina states distain in her voice for the scumbags who do this.
"Speaking of which what're you doin' here?" I ask nodding to the veiled woman standing by the open and waiting helicopter door.
"Last minute addition," Timur says his voice thick with Russian accent.
"Wheels up in three, make sure you have all of your gear that you'll need, everyone," Marius tells all of us. I look around and see Tina walking up to the helipad with large rectangle bag on her back. Instead of asking what it is I double and triple check all my gear and jump in the helicopter.
"Alright everyone. You heard what Harry said this is a recon mission only find and report anything of interest," Tina says and we all nod.
???
"Did they take the bait?"
"Yessir, they did. Shall I tell the Core to stand ready or to be lax on their guard?"
"No, no the Core have nothing to worry about, it's the expendables that have to worry about who Rainbow sends in because I've heard one or two of their operators have been caught going rogue because of certain... circumstances. They'll get the mission done at all costs, so I have no doubt that the Core will take care of themselves," when I finish my phone dings with a message.
'Package sent. Awaiting orders' the text reads and I smile to myself.
"Rainbow is gonna get a nice surprise once they land," I lament thinking on what dinner I should have to celebrate this victory. Albeit a small one at that, but a victory nonetheless.
Tina
Looking around I see most of the operators sleeping except for Gaege who is on his phone doing god knows what. I think back over the past few days since he woke up from his coma. I kissed him, and he looked as shocked as I felt and then that Nathan prick tried to talk to him. I decide to go talk to him, walking over I kick his boot making him look up at me and smile.
"Well, well, well Miss Sang what can I do ya for?" He jokingly asks.
"When you were out I was worried that you wouldn't wake up," I admit and take a deep breath and let it out slowly studying his face for any visible shift in emotion.
"I know," he responds looking back at his phone.
"How? How do you know that I was worried?" I ask stunned by his answer.
"Three things that you did when I woke up; one, your eyes were watering, two, you kissed me, and three Gustave told me that you and Monika would visit me everyday for about an hour or two just talking to me and hoping that I would wake up and talk to you," he answers cooly like it wasn't a bother to him.
"Well yeah, but what if I didn't kiss you or tear up what would've you deduced then?" I ask sharply making him look at me again.
"You would have regardless," he smirks and I feel my face get hot.
"What do you think about this mission?" I ask changing the subject.
"Does it matter what I think?" He asks accepting the change.
"Yes because I value my teammates opinions,"
"Aight, fine. I think we're about to be lead straight into a trap or something. My gut is telling me that there's something wrong with this... mission... no this whole situation with that Nathan guy and Six sending us on this mission to Canada and everything. I just feel like something's terribly wrong," he explains.
I take a breath and say, "Gaege, I know this must be hard for you just to thrown into a mission like this, but-"
"Ya think, Tina? Do you really know how hard this is for me? To wake up to some spook from wherever he's from asking me whatever? I'm still not over what happened all those months ago," he raises his voice looking into my eyes.
"I know that your not over her, whenever my first husband cheated on me it tore me up, but I got over it eventually," I lament, ignoring the fact that he interrupted me. He opens his mouth, but I cut him off by speaking, "before you say anything I know that it doesn't concern me but I just want you to know that I'm always here for my teammates. Never leave a man behind," He opens and closes his mouth, gopping like a fish trying to think of something to say.
"Wake everyone up, we are one klick out," Jäger yells from the cockpit.
???
"Everyone is in position, sir," one of my greatest allies tells me.
"Good. Very good, when I give the signal have the Core and the major staff evacuate the building," I order him and he nods scurrying off.
"Sir if I may?" My right hand man says.
"Go ahead Plague, you may speak freely," I tell her.
"Sir, I don't think this 'plan' is a good idea, we may lose many more lives than we plan on. Not to mention that the plan might go sideways, and if I do-"
"Ember, dear this plan won't go sideways because even if we lose more people than we expect to lose, we have many more recruits ready to give their lives for our cause. So relax and sit back and watch the fight," I explain calmly smoothing back my already long smooth blood red hair. Getting up from my chair I go to the floor to ceiling one way window and gaze out lamenting, "when we're done the world will fear the name Sarah Krichalov, daughter of Sebastian Cole Krichalov and Natalia Zakharova, step-sister to Orlov Krshchav. The world will fear us, Rainbow will fear us, and most of all other organizations will fear and rever us, Dawn. You are dismissed," I hear her boots clacking against the floor getting distant before my phone buzzes in my pocket.
"Give me some good news," I answer.
"You were right Harry sent Gaege with the others," the voice says.
"Good, very good. This is why your the best, keep busy report back if anything changes," I respond.
"Yessir," the caller hangs up. I grace my face with a small smile, reaching up I touch the scar that runs down my the left side of my face and tell myself, "soon, soon this will all be over, no more wars, no more terrorism, just peace,"
