On a different note, I saw Elvis last night, and fell in love, so that's where the majority of this chapter came from. Sorry its been so long!- | - | - | - | - | - | -
One Day Later
For the rest of that night, you and Matthew just kind of hung out, both asking the occasional question, until he left a few hours after midnight when the storm died down.
Now you were walking through the somewhat crowded streets, in light blue jeans and a bright f/c shirt, though still sticking with your iconic jacket. You'd even stuck on some sunglasses with f/c neon frames, since it was so sunny out.
You'd looked up the address and found out it was a rock bar. You were walking for a while when you saw a building on the corner of a terrace, brick like the rest of them, with a bright yellow sign that read Line of the Sun. Most of it was hidden by a railing that led to a staircase that went down. Looking over the side, you saw a small patio and the entrance of the bar, indistinguishable music blasting from within the walls.
Taking a moment to compose yourself, 'cause people aren't really your thing, you walked through the threshold.
Alcohol and sweat hit your nose, spotlights and fog filled your vision, and AC/DC filled your ears. You weren't sure which song it was, but quite frankly you didn't care.
Gaze scanning over the scattered audience, you found the familiar figure of Arthur towards the front of the stage, and made your way over. "Hey!" You called over the music. He turned to you and grinned, sparkling amber liquid swaying in his glass.
"Y/n!" He motioned you over, and you sat on the stool next to him, ordering a water when a waiter came by.
"Why are we here?" You asked, leaning in to better be heard.
"Oh not for this." He waved off the teens on the stage, who were honestly shredding it on the electric guitar. "But it's nice to get here early and save the good spots."
"Seats for what?" You questioned, utterly clueless.
"Oh, you'll see." He waved you off and continued nursing his drink, enjoying the night and humming along with songs. You set your glasses on the table and sat back.

It had been a few hours, at least, and Arthur had told you any stories he hadn't in your last visits, or twisted one of his others to make it more dramatic. You'd admit, it was entertaining, but you still didn't know why you were here.
You were about to ask Arthur, again, when the lights went dim, leaving the bar in complete darkness. Then a spotlight popped on, revealing a dark man dressed in a fancy suit, black hair smoothed into curls. A faintly familiar beat started playing.
Like you've said before, you've been around a long time, but you hadn't heard or bothered with a ton of music. People said it was calming, but you never saw the appeal. This felt different.
Then the man spoke up when the first beat hit, voice rich and smooth as he sang, drum sounding along with him.
"If you're looking for trouble,
You came to the right place"
The drummer played an interlude tune between each verse.
"If you're looking for trouble,
Take a look right at my face"
The singer looked right through the crowd. Right at you.
"I was born standing up,
And talking back
My daddy was a green-eyed mountain jack!"
He threw his head back, his voice resonated through the microphone, sending chills up your spine.
"'Cause I'm evil,
my middle name is misery"
His voice went pitched, then let out at the end of the word.
"Well, I'm evil,
so don't you mess around with me"
A faster beat was heard. Then the same from before came back. He moved along with the music fluidly.
"I've never looked for trouble,"
He looked at you again.
"But I've never ran,
I don't take no orders,
From no kind of man,"
He smirked. The audience cheered.
"I'm only made out,
Of flesh, blood and bone, But if you're gonna start a rumble
Don't you try it all alone!"
He gestured for you to move up with him while he twisted his body, shaking his hand with the rhythm. You shook your head.
"Because I'm evil,
my middle name is misery, whoa"
He nodded. You hesitated.
"Well, I'm evil,"
Arthur chuckled at the exchange and pushed you forward, forcing you to stumble upon the stage. You weren't drunk enough for this.
"so don't you mess around with me"
The man smiled. The beat picked up, more upbeat than before and easier to move with. Sighing reluctantly, you nodded back and moved beside him, not as flamboyant as he was, but just letting yourself loose, gliding with the music.
"Ha! I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be,
I'm evil, evil, evil, as can be,"
He took your hand, spinning you around the stage with him and giving you some moves to move in sync with him.
"So don't mess around, don't mess around
Don't mess around with me,"
You felt the music sink into your veins. It felt incredible.
"Well I'm evil, I'm evil, I'm evil, I'm evil,"
You hadn't heard music like this in a while. It set your soul on fire in the best way possible.
"So don't mess around, don't mess around with me
So don't mess around with me
yeah!"
He spun you one last time and dipped you by the waist, sweat shining off his caramel skin, wide smile flashing his white teeth. You couldn't help but smile as well, chest heaving for breath as you stood upright. He gave you a quick kiss before taking your hand and giving the audience a bow. You followed along in a daze, mind fuzzy and drunk even if you hadn't had a single drink.
You saw Arthur grinning back at you in the crowd, clapping along with the rest of the bar. Before you hopped off the stage, the man pulled your hand up to his lips and kissed your knuckles.
"I hope to see you again soon." His velvet voice spoke. You smiled and nodded.
"Me too."
Completely unaware of the Endless in the corner.
