??????

Trapped.

A suffocating feeling clawing at your lungs, constricting your thoughts and restraining any hopes of freedom.

Stuck.

A helpless feeling welling in the pit of your stomach, creeping up and around your chest until it met your skull, swarming it with dark propositions in the midst of the abyss that had become your mind.

Captured.

A familiar feeling sending you spiraling, blinding you with panic and anxiety, caressing you with its sharpened blade like an old friend you never enjoyed seeing.

All things you had experienced.

And all things you especially hated.

But here you were, yet again.

Bound.

Alone.

Forever.

~ · ~

Your eyes fluttered open, a daze glossing over the blurry gaze you managed to recover. Groaning at the uncomfortable way your skin pulled and rested over your bones, you shrugged your shoulders and tried to turn onto your stomach to further bury your face into a pillow, squeezing your eyelids shut with determination to hold onto the blessing of sleep.

But the cottony sensation filling your head wasn't from the fabric of your bed, nor was the soft airless feel of your body the feeling of waking from an oddly restoring dream. In fact, you couldn't even move.

No, your head was fuzzy and warm but it felt more like it did when you'd try to drown your sorrows and tragedies under a substantial tidal wave of alcohol you couldn't remember the name of the morning after. You didn't remember drinking...in fact you don't remember being anywhere near your latest apartment since-

You gasped, as if you really had been drowning, as if you'd been on the verge of a death sentence you could never quite reach.  Your consciousness expanded to the horizon of your vision, your eyes snapping open to take in the dangers of your surroundings. But you weren't met with a room, or a cellar, or even the smallest indication of a place. You were greeted by a pair of sharp, cunning, and eerily cat-like eyes, boring into the soul you were so sure had been flayed alive well over a century ago.

Jerking back, you found that you couldn't move - not very much at least. Your neck flexed away, but you only made it a few inches before knocking into something. Your muscles strained as you wrestled against the invisible bounds that hung you in the air, the predatory shine in your captors unearthly stare.

Bearing your teeth and fighting against the very air that wrapped around your limbs like suffocating silk, you tracked the strange being with your eyes when you could, stomach dropping every time they disappeared behind your back where you couldn't manage to see. The flashy blonde circled you like a shark in the water - with your blood gushing just underneath its nose, their red nail biting as they dragged it across your exposed skin, leaving angry red marks while barely giving any pressure.
