i write all these poems and stories

repeating that i don't know why i fell for you

or when, or how

but i lied and its so simple to see

its the way your hair falls around your face

framing all the angles that make you perfect

its the way your eyes reflect the hurt you have felt

with innocence and no understanding of your self worth

its the way your smile is so inconceivably beautiful

releasing your genuine and unforced laugh

its your face in concentration

and confusion and frustration

its your self assured demeanour

and the way you speak

i know i won't find anyone else like you

its the way you have snuck into my head

and the way i'll never be able to shake you out

this may be another poem you'll never see

but oh, Lord help me as to find you in another life

if this one isn't made for us
