Kaya drank her wine as she watched Niklaus danced with Tatia.
"I'm going kiss her." Niklaus whispered to her
"No one is standing in your way, Nikaus. If that so pleases the heart. Than please do." Kaya said sipping on her wine, unbothered.
"If only I could do what really pleases my heart." He said smiling at her before he went back to dancing.
"You're not going to stop him."
"And waste all my energy. He will do as he pleases, no matter what I say." Kaya said.
"You don't seem pleased." Elijah said.
Kaya looked at Elijah looking at them,"is that meant for me or you?"
"We all know, Niklaus holds affection towards you much more than as a friend. He may had not before but he does now." Elijah said.
"And I'll shoot it down before he could even pursue that idea." Kaya said.
"Why?" Elijah asked.
Niklaus danced with Tatia before he kissed her.
"I never had much. I never asked for more than I had. All I ever needed was someone to be by side. To never leave me."
"Niklaus desires to be love and be loved."
Kaya smiled,"true. Love is easy to give. True, pure, unconditional love is harder to give. I'm not sure if I can give that to him and he can do the same in return. Niklaus desires to love and he will freely give to anyone to flatters their eyelashes at him. We are a great friends but I do not believe we will be great lovers."
"Do you not love him?" Rebekah asked.
"I care for him. I want him to be happy. I want him to freely choose whom he wants to be. I want him to free of your father's judgmental, disapproval abuse. I want him to know he doesn't need his father's approval, there is someone who will accept and love him as he is. He is his son for goodness sake!"
"Have you accepted him as he is?"
"We've known each other for a very long time. The things I use to hate about him and I've grown to love it about him." Kaya blurted out.
"Love?" Rebekah asked excitedly.
"Love? Now you're just putting words in my mouth. I clearly said accept."
"Unconditional love. You are undeniable in love with him." Rebekah smiled as she held her hands.
Kaya frowned,"stop it." She said,"do not make this about me. This is about Elijah making a choice for the girl. You're giving up on her too easily."
"I'm not giving up on her. She gave up on me. She choose another." Elijah said.
"Did she say that?"
"No but..."
"Stop trying to comfort and pity yourself. Take a chance. Let her make the choice." Kaya said.
"You. Find someone. Stop lingering and mothering your siblings. It's not your responsibility. Love Rebekah, don't be a coward like me and your brother here."
Rebekah nodded before she went of.
Elijah scoffed before he left.
"Why ain't you joining the dance?" Tatia asked as she stood beside her.
"I'm more of a drinking kind of person." Kaya said holding up her cup.
Tatia nodded,"I thought I saw Elijah."
Kaya pointed at him,"Choose carefully. Don't string them along. I'll hate it for two brothers to hate each other because you can't make a choice." Kaya warned before Tatia nodded and walked away.
"She gives advice but she never practices what she preaches. Henrik, don't you find that out of place." Kol said to Henrik from behind.
"Listening on women's conversation. Very suspicious of you." Kaya said.
"It can't be helped when you're so loud." Henrik said.
Kaya smiled as ruffled his hair,"Shouldn't you be in bed."
"No, not tonight." He yawned.
"He's stubborn." Kol said looking her.
"Kol begged me to stay." Henrik said.
Kaya smiled."I'll take him." Kaya holds out her hand.
"I'm not holding your hand. I'm a grown man."
"Alright grown man, time to go sleep."
"I want you to be a part of our family." Henrik said holding her hand after he laid down.
"Well said little brother." Niklaus said walking in.
Kaya ruffled Henrik's hair,"sleep. I'll see you tomorrow." She said as she got up and walked out.
"Kaya. Love." Niklaus grabbed her hand.
"What?" She asked.
"You know you're my best, most greatest, favorite friend."
"I'm your only friend." Kaya said.
Niklaus looked down than up to her,"I might not be worthy of your love and compassion. Until a while back, my brothers and sister brought to my attention. I never thought of you as a potential partner. I never realised how much you meant to me. How happy I made me despite everything."
"You comfort me, protected me, gave me strength to go another day thinking I will see you again, and the day after that. I realised my feelings went deeper than I thought. We met young, we were troublemakers, headaches to some I think that's why we became friends. You're the only person I care of outside my family."
"My heart yearns to be next to you. I wish to protect you, even from myself but at the same time I can't bare the thought of never being with you. I can't bare the thought of not seeing you even just once a day." Niklaus stood close to her, conflicted with his feelings,"when I look at you, when I touch you." He grabbed her shoulders,"I feel a sense of I belong. I was meant to love you and be loved by you. I want to share your adventures, give you an extraordinary life you deserve."
Kaya stared at his hands on her shoulders.
"I know I'm not what you expect."
Kaya finally looked up at him,"I don't expect anything from you, Niklaus. Just live well if possible I want you to get away from your father."
Kaya grabbed his hands,"I'm always going to be your friend Niklaus. I'm always going to be there for you without being what you want me to be right now."
"I can't change your mind." Niklaus said disappointed.
Kaya shook her head.
He sighed before he held out his hand,"we can still be friends right Dance?" He asked.
Kaya smiled as shd nodded.
"Dance with me." Niklaus held out his hand with a guffy grin before he grabbed her hand twirled Kaya around.
Kaya chuckled as she continued to dance.
Niklaus laughed as he watched her.
