41. Training Little Gilbert

Kaya was still drinking when Stefan came walking in.

Kaya was staring at her drink,"why did you do it?"

Stefan closed the door and said,"he deserved to know the truth."

"And you think he deserved to be told by you?"

"It didn't seem like you were going to."

"You still had no right." She said putting down her empty glass.

"I'm sorry. At that moment once it fell out my mouth I couldn't stop. I wanted to hurt him anyway I could."

"And did you stop to think how it would hurt me?" Kaya said,"or you just don't care."

"It's not like that."

"Than how is it like." Kaya turned to him.

"Klaus is dragging you down. Straying  you away from the people who truly care about you. When is the last time you talked to Bonnie or any of your friends."

"You're forgetting she chained me up. I desiccated Klaus and she chose let him go. I had to face his anger, his betrayal. She did that."

"It was to save her friends. What about Damon?"

"Damon hates me for leaving you both."

"Have you thought he might be afraid of you abandoning him, us again. You keep choosing Klaus over us."

"I didn't choose anyone."

"But you watched as he killed everyone of our friends, and their families."

Kaya clutched her teeth.

" As long as Klaus exists, there won't be peace. People around us will keep dying. The truth might save him therefore us." Stefan looking at her,"If he changes you can be with him. Don't you want that."

Kaya chewed on the inside of her cheek,"too bad, it didn't go the way you wanted."

"What did he say?" Stefan frowned.

"He wants nothing to do with me. He doesn't want to remember me, us. He doesn't want me to become his "weakness". He calls me. He's not going to change." Realisation started to set in Kaya,"he's never going to change." She looks at Stefan tearfully.

"Since you've come to that realization. Stop living in the past, living for Klaus. Live for now and for your own future. The people that care about you and want to see you happy."

"I tried. That's why I came back to Mystic falls. I went to school, i had friends. The past pulled me back."

"Mikael is gone. After Klaus is gone you can start over. Go to school again. Be with your friends, find someone else." Stefan said grabbing her shoulders.

Kaya turned away and drank the last drop from her bourbon,"I'm going to bed. Goodnight."

Jeremy is putting wooden bullets into a gun. He hands the gun to Damon. Damon removes the bullets.

"Good. Now, do it like your life depends on it, 'cause it does."

"Don't act like you care about my life. You care about the hunter's mark and curing Elena so she's not sired to your ass."

"Both require you to be alive. Which is why I updated our relationship status to 'it's complicated.' Have you talked to her at all? Elena?"

"Maybe. Why? Running out of voicemails to listen to?"

" I'm sorry. Did I interrupt play time?" Klaus said appearing.
