"So... what happened?" Asked Milo slowly.

He didn't even really know where to begin with what was in front of him and the others. All four of them were stood outside what had once been the safe house. Safe being the most important word in that sentence. It was barely even there anymore, the entire thing completely destroyed because of the apparent fire. What was left was only just still standing, the skeleton of the structure somehow managing to hold itself together long enough for the rain from the storm to put out most of the fire. There was a couple sparks and cinders still lit here and there but by this point they weren't going to cause any more damage. They probably shouldn't have been standing this close considering there was ash constantly blowing in the wind. As soon as Danny had escaped the inferno he'd let the others know what had happened. Well, he only let Cassie and Ani know because none of them had Milo's number given he only had a burner phone and tried to use it as little as possible, hence the name. They'd asked Milo where he'd been when he finally reappeared but he didn't say anything, already washing off the blood in the ocean in the early morning when there was no one else around. This was the first he was seeing but still not hearing about the safe house.

"Anyone?" Asked Milo again when the rest of them stayed silent, glancing at them quickly.

"Everything was fine when I stopped by briefly last night" answered Cassie, biting her lip.

"Wait, when were here last night?" Said Danny, raising an eyebrow.

"It was when you were asleep" replied Cassie, smiling softly. "I came by to check on you but decided to just let you rest when I saw you passed out upstairs. I left after that."

"And then when Danny woke up everything was on fire" said Ani, furrowing her eyebrows because she was trying to work it out.

"Exactly. At first I thought it was something I'd done like leaving something on downstairs that might have caught light to a curtain or whatever" replied Danny, everyone listening. "But after I barely managed to get out before the ceiling came down, I spotted that right there."

"Oh my god, are you alright?" Asked Cassie, checking Danny over.

"I'm alright now, at the time it was slightly terrifying" answered Danny, stopping Cassie and giving her look that let her know everything was alright.

"So is that what I think it is?" Questioned Ani once Cassie and Danny had finished, already concerned. "A petrol can."

"It's completely empty as well" responded Danny. "I didn't use my hands because of fingerprints but I gave a small nudge with my foot."

"It wasn't an accident, this was done purposely" said Milo, all of their worries growing. "Someone tried to kill you."

For the next five minutes or so, Milo went on a massive rant about how irritating and inconvenient this was. Cassie made the point that it was probably more important that Danny was able to survive the ordeal but then Milo countered that with saying since he survived that fact was no longer as important as his own. Obviously it was a big deal but it would have been bigger if Danny was either killed or horribly injured. Since technically neither happened, they had to become a past thought for now. It was clear Milo was annoyed and was probably going to stay annoyed for quite some time afterwards. That was fair but there was also the matter of finding out who did this and why. However you could probably easily figure the way if you knew the who.

"Why did this have to happen now?" Said Milo, mainly speaking to himself and pacing a little bit. "The safe house was supposed to be safe for a reason. It's literally in the title."
